1. I thought it was pretty well done.
I wouldn't consider it ground breaking, but they did cover some important topics. Much of the focus was on poaching of endangered species, particularly in Asian countries, and habitat destruction in Madagascar. The hidden camera footage was heartbreaking. They also covered industrial pollution in rural China and toxic chemicals in the bloodstream of Americans. The interviews were very enlightening and well edited.

I think Anderson Cooper showed that he's a little out of touch when he had his blood tested and he seemed to dwell on a chemical found in his blood which comes from the stage make up CNN's talent wears on air. The fifty people who can relate probably found it a lot more fascinating than I did.

2. Thx. What about global warming? Did they touch upon it tonight?
And if so, was it pandering to the deniers at all?

3. A Chinese plant manager was asked ...

if he would drink water out of the river his plant polluted heavily. The plant manager answered with a most definite 'no'. That struck me as a glaring difference between Chinese industrialists and Western industrialists. The Chinese obviously have a higher regard for the truth, even it it stands to cast them in an unfavorable light. I wonder how long that character trait will last since the Chinese are still learning how to succeed in a Capitalist world.

5. Kick. Now that the second installment is out I'm interested in DU's opinion...
how was it?

Did it do justice to the reality of global warming, or did it pander to the deniers?
