"Do you think climate change is avoidable?" |
|
This is the current sophomoric CNN poll at cnn.com.
In light of *any* paleo-climate data, how can anybody answer anything but "no". Not only is climate change unavoidable, but it is entirely inevitable.
Now, if the question were posed as to its apparent underlying socio-political commentary as: "Can climate change that has been brought about by the actions of humans be avoided?", this would be a far more applicable query.

1. avoidable? inevitable? |
|
It is already far too late; climate change has been here for decades and most humans don't really give a damn about it; their inactions speak louder than ALL the rhetoric.

But then again I believe we are all gonna see some bigger shit coming down the pike to worry about before that ever becomes a real problem.

10. My Answer To Your Question Is No |
|
My answer to your question is now no. I think that too much human-generated greehouse gasses have been pumped into the air and oceans and that some climate change is now unstoppable. Too many positive-feedback loops are now kicking in. At this point, the major question ought to be how humanity can go about mitigating the effects.

12. No more avoidable then the sun eventually evaporating the earth |

It's never too early to start thinking about a new solar system. Of course I wish I were around to see what it looks like when the last ship leaves the earth.
