Dana Perino and "Global Warmings Health Benefits"
I shit you not. Sometimes I really think we are doomed.

...this is an issue where I'm sure lots of people would love to ridicule me when I say this, but it is true that many people die from cold-related deaths every winter. And there are studies that say that climate change in certain areas of the world would help those individuals. There are also concerns that it would increase tropical diseases and that's -- again, I'm not an expert in that, I'm going to let Julie Gerberding testify in regards to that...

They have been quite a conundrum the past three or four years. It has been an adventure every time they take the field. Thanks for the positive vibes.

5. I wonder if she knows people die from heat too
not to mention the potential damage to crops & wildlife, much of which would affect our economy and health indirectly as well.

Now I can't wait to hear this argument from the dittoheads.

6. Somebody tell her fair skinned people are more susceptible
to skin cancer and if the sun is beating down with nothing to block it, she's going to have to go live in a cave with other fair skinned snakes like Rove.

warming that was so severely edited before being presented?

The White House severely edited congressional testimony given Tuesday by the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the impact of climate change on health, removing specific scientific references to potential health risks, according to two sources familiar with the documents.

Dr. Julie Gerberding, director of the Atlantabased disease-monitoring agency, told a Senate hearing that climate change “is anticipated to have a broad range of impacts on the health of Americans.”

But her prepared testimony was devoted entirely to the agency’s preparation, with few details on what effects climate change could have on the spread of disease. Only during questioning did she describe some specific diseases that likely would be affected, again without elaboration.

Her testimony before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee had much less information on health risks than a much longer draft version Gerberding submitted to the White House Office of Management and Budget for review before her appearance.

“It was eviscerated,” said a CDC official, familiar with both versions, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the review process.

The official said that while it is customary for testimony to be changed in a White House review, these changes were particularly “heavyhanded,” with the document cut from its original 14 pages to four. It was six pages as presented to the Senate committee.
