A former Cook County judge was convicted Tuesday of biting his teenage son on the hand during an argument in July.

Lambros Kutrubis, 66, of the 300 block of North State Street was found guilty of misdemeanor domestic battery during a bench trial in Domestic Violence Court, said Andy Conklin, spokesman for the state's attorney's office. Kutrubis' son, John, 17, suffered "slight swelling and {a} cut to {the} side of {his} right hand" when bitten, according to court documents. The teen has said he and his father had argued the morning of July 12 at their home after his father accused him of stealing money.

An order of protection was issued that day against Kutrubis and was in effect until Aug. 2.

A copy of the order stated that Kutrubis, who had custody of his son during a protracted divorce proceeding with the teen's mother, Betty Stokes, was to allow the boy to live with his mother for the duration of the protection order. It prohibited the former judge from committing physical abuse, harassment, interference with his son's personal liberty, intimidation and stalking, and from visiting him at school.
