I'd like to pose a theory regarding Al Gore |
|
I hardly follow the polls at all, but I saw some poll where Gore was a choice. I believe Gore was among the leading vote-getters along with Senator Clinton. Then the rest of the candidates trail behind in the predictable pattern.
Then as I was watching The Daily Show segment where Stewart was skewering the debate content and debaters. It became clear to me that guys like DK, Richardson, Biden will no longer be a choice in these polls, so where will those votes go?
You guessed it.
I believe the vast majority of these votes would accrue to Gore. I believe Al Gore will be a presidential candidate - maybe not for the Democratic party, he is above party. There is absolutely no sense for him to engage in the mud-wrestling, spending resources on bullshit soundbites. When the second and third tier candidates dissapate, the only real alternative to Senator Clinton will be Al Gore, and he has already expressed his complete departure from the neo-liberal stance. Everybody knows what he stands for. I do not believe Obama will be in it at the end.(bookmark this post).

1. You are forgetting about ballot deadlines |

By the time the 2nd and 3rd tier candidates drop out the ballot deadlines will be long past. Gore will not be able to get in. I know people on DU say write-in but that is a fantasy. Write-ins can't work at the presidential level because of ballot laws in all 50 states discourage them.
