That's odd. No one on DU knows anyone who likes her.

5. I have A Simple Explanation |
|
You can go to your local community college, take Statistics 101, and ask your lecturer what is the difference between a probability sample and a non probability sample.

And that's why Bill Clinton is only one of three Democratic presidents in the entire twentieth century to serve two full terms as presidents...
Oh, I'll pre-empt the "pluraility" argument... The last Democrat to win the presidency before Clinton was Carter in 76 and he received 50.8% of the vote, Johnson recieved 62% of the vote in 64 and JFK received 49.7% of the vote in 1960... And you have to go back to FDR to find any Dem winning a landslide...

10. I am so GD tired of this infighting among our candidates |
|
that I don't give a shit who gets the nomination, I'll just vote for the Democrat who wins. There are more important issues to tackle right now if there will even be elections next fall. Like how the hell we get rid of Bush to ensure there are elections next fall.

11. This is not surprising at all |
|
They are being asked what they think the odds are. Anyone paying attention knows that, as it stands, HRC is the odds on favorite to get the Democratic nomination and that the Democrats are favored to win. It might have been more interesting to also ask the conditional question, If X gets the (Democratic, Republican) nomination, what do you think their odds are.
This might also be a time to ask a question of the form, "Think of your 10 closest friends or relatives, who do most of them prefer?" This moves the question from asking them to be a pundit, to reporting on who they are hearing favored.

12. It's a little disingenuous to ask the public to handicap the election. |
|
Why would we care whether the public knows what the "odds" are in the election?
I agree with the public that the next president will be Hillary Clinton, but this "poll" or "odds-making event" is a non-story, IMO.

13. I Disagree...A Bit... |
|
If you would have went to intrade where people put their money where there mouths are on the eve of Election 06 you would have found every candidate who was favored to win (money bet on) went on to win...
It's a bit different than betting on sporting events because there is no spread where the team you bet on can theoretically "lose" and "win"...
