US Air Force struck Syrian nuclear site - Al-Jazeera
The September 6 raid over Syria was carried out by the US Air Force, the Al-Jazeera Web site reported Friday. The Web site quoted Israeli and Arab sources as saying that two strategic US jets armed with tactical nuclear weapons carried out an attack on a nuclear site under construction.

So... how many people think that this is really just impossible. Wouldn't the use of a tactical nuke set off warning sirens in Russia and China that no one would ever hear the end of ?

Even if the US were involved in this, which I don't don't we were in the tactical and planning stages, it seems a bit of a stretch to claim the USAF took part in the actual fling of the mission itself.

2. It wasn't a nuclear site. Cheney's office "leaked" misinformation claiming it was.

And if tactical nukes were used, radiation detectors around the world would have started blaring.

No further scrutiny is required and you can proceed thusly:

13. Several countries have satellites that can detect a nuclear explosion anywhere on Earth
The fallout would be detected downwind. There would be eye witnesses, radiation poisoning cases, seismic evidence, etc.

12. It says the planes were "armed with tactical nukes", not that it used any
If they had been used, there would be no way to keep it a secret.

I think the Israeli air force clobbered the facility, the Syrians cleaned up the mess, and this is black propaganda.

16. From the Article
From the Article in JPost:

"The sources added that each US plane carried one tactical nuclear weapon and that the site was hit by one bomb and was totally destroyed."

18. That sentence does not say that a nuclear weapon was used
Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 10:45 AM by slackmaster
It says only that the site was destroyed by one bomb.

Carrying tactical nuclear weapons is not exclusive of carrying other weapons.

17. So...after a REAL use of tactical nukes, they say "Well, (eyes rolling) there..
have been false reports of the use of tactical nukes before."

19. This story has changed so many times it's hard to keep up with it
And so much disinformation that I suspect something very stinky about it.
