Tweety won't be inviting Couter back anytime soon
We'll see. :sarcasm: I really do hope this is a start of her not being invited to spew her crap and hawk her vile books.

Looks like Hardball is playing hardball with Ann Coulter.

MSNBC's Chris Matthews says it will be "a while" before the incendiary conservative pundit is invited back to the show.

The turning point, Matthews says, was Coulter's controversial remarks — which many perceived as anti-Semitic — on CNBC's "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch" Oct. 8.

"To me, it has to do with how many people are really offended; who tell me to my face when I bump into them," Matthews said in an interview before Tuesday's Democratic presidential debate in Philadelphia. "I'm affected by that."

-----

Asked to respond to Matthews' comments, Coulter said, through her publicist: "Who?"

Birthplace: New York City

Gender: Female
Religion: Protestant
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Pundit

Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Walking rightwing rant

Ann Coulter is a lawyer and author, famous for despising anyone politically left of Ronald Reagan. In college, she founded the local chapter at the Federalist Society, a conservative-libertarian group. She edited The Michigan Law Review, and she is a legal correspondent for Human Events. Coulter was fired from MSNBC when she told the president of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, himself a disabled Vietnam veteran, "No wonder you guys lost." She was fired from the conservative National Review when she turned in a column offering a final solution to the Muslim problem: "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."

Political positions Coulter disagrees with are briefly, brusquely, and often inaccurately described, then dismissed, often with an insult. The same steps are repeated several times per column. The technique can be enthralling for readers already in agreement with Coulter, yet Arnold Beichman, a conservative from the Hoover Institution, reviewed Treason in the conservative Washington Times, and wrote that he had "tried to read Miss Coulter's book and failed. Life is too short to read pages and pages of rant."

7. She worked for Ken Starr, didn't she?
Stalking Bill Clinton, going through his underwear drawers.

That makes her a celebrity to Clinton haters.

fed information from that case illegally to Ken Starr.

The big thing on her "resume" is that
she was one of the little "elves" that worked on representing Paula Jones against Bill Clinton. Coulter and the elves then fed information from the Jones case to Ken Starr which was strictly and highly illegal. Nevertheless, Starr used the ill-gotten information to expand the Whitewater probe.

Coulter ended up being on different shows because of her representing Jones. I remember back then when she was on, I believe Geraldo, that she made the remark in regards to Ken Starr, Whitewater and Paula Jones that "the elves have been very busy."

21. The interesting thing, as I recall...
Is that when she was on TV, opining about Clinton, she was also working as one of the elves, and I do not recall her disclosing that intersection of interests.

11. Coulter is brought onto these shows simply for entertainment
and afterwards there is professed "outrage" on both sides. She is empty of content and so is Tweety. Watching re-runs of the Three Stooges is more enlightening.

12. She Crossed One Bridge Too Far
The Coultergeist game has always been to outrage and milk the publicity to yak on the talk shows and sell books. It worked great with the Clenis as it was a popular topic in "the village" and she added some "spark" to the narratives the media was trying to peddle. This is what got her on the tube, made her name and, for several years, was her meal ticket to fame and fortune. Whenever she needed to spark interest in her latest screed, she'd pick a fight, make an outrageous comment and as long as it was partisan, it was all "good fun" or "fair game". She became a corporate media gadfly who played the game well and performed whenever the cameras called for it.

The worm turned when Coultergeist ran out of good material. Times had changed and the people she's championed have been discredited...instead of being a "hatchet-woman" on the offensive, she was forced to play defense...not quite her turf. The way to deflect from the failures of her icons was to pick fights and draw attention elsewhere...be it gays or the 9/11 widows or Elizabeth Edwards. As she went further on the defensive the shriller she became...becoming an embarassment to "the village" rather than the "funny gadfly". Her partisan shtick had run its course and her bomb throwing just wasn't hitting like it had. So she went for a new outrage...something/anything to get attention...and then hope the village would buy her old spin and let her play victim on all their talk shows. The problem is she crossed the religious divide...in specific picking on Judaism...a bigger taboo in the village than the "n" word or liking a Democrat. Her attempts to get attention have backfired. Her time is all but up.

We're seeing the imposion of the mighty Wurlitzer as both the ineptness and infighting of the Repugnicans continue and the tone of the nation has changed. The village is catching up.

26. So viciously attacking the 9/11 widows wasn't offensive enough for Matthews?
Don't get me wrong, this is a positive development, and what she said in this case is disgraceful, but it still blows my mind she was let anywhere near a microphone after what she said about the 9/11 widows. That was some vicious trash talk she spewed about those women.
