Washington Post: Virginia Election Next Week Could Be 08 Bellwether
Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 11:57 AM by CorpGovActivist
Next week's off-cycle state elections in Virginia are drawing in a whole new level of national party activism: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/01/AR2007110102502.html

With Mark Warner almost certain to flip the other Senate seat blue to join Jim Webb in 08, and with polls showing Virginia voters nearly evenly split on voting for a Dem or a GOP for President, Virginia is in play. Next weeks's election could help make Virginia even more competitive in 08, by shifting the balance of power in the Virginia Statehouse.

7. It's looking very good, but it will be close..
I'm going to go out on a limb and say he does. Like I said, I'm counting on a lot of repubbies staying home this year.

8. Military Families and Webb Republicans...
... may turn out to punish the hardline GOP again, like they did last year. If so, even better.

9. Good point, let's hope..
Webb is going on an all-out push this week. I hope his, Mark Warner's and Tim Kaine's popularity carries us over. It's been a long time since the Democrats have looked this good in Virginia.
