now that schumer has decided to give his vote of confidence to AG "Torture Mukasey"
will he have the need to run and hide from the cameras, like Bush does when he runs from questions that might reveal his dishonesty?

I mean, all this talk from schumer about the rule of law, and in the end ... he gives us: "rule of law? My foot!"

What darkness lurks behind a human soul, one never knows!

1. Simma down
Thats what I tell myself. But let me spin this for you. I sent schumer an email a few days ago, said to him it's plain and simple, the man cant even make a statement that waterboarding is torture, how will he stand up to Bush. Like you, I was (and am) mad about all the equivocation by dems and repubs (like mccain) (.."well lets look at the man's record as a whole...") Pisses me off.

However -
You may not like this and it pains me to say it
(1) Gee I miss John Ashcroft
(2) We have a madman in the whitehouse, and if Mukasey says waterboarding is torture at this point Bush himself will pull the plug on him. Once he's in, its a different story.
Now I am equivocating, but there you have it. My Senators are Kay "cheerleader" Hutchison and John "cornhole" Cornyn. No sense writing to them.

8. i am so angry too ... the only thing government is listening to is the bush pro-fascist agenda of
prescott bush. the intent is to resurrect his ideology and turn this country into a police state where only the arian race is supreme and the corporatists within that arian race.

this was not the united states of the kennedy, carter, or even the clinton eras ... and therefore, they assassinated kennedy, made carter to look out like washout, and tried to destroy clinton.

i am not sure that i miss ashcroft. i just miss honesty and integrity. neither one is anywhere to be found.

how can any of these sleep well at night? they must all smell like vomit and not even a shower before bedtime can get rid of the stench!

2. Our Eyes Opened
To the reality that the Dems and Repugs are but different sides of the same coin, forever locked in "battle" when they are actually fighting for the same thing: power. Wheeling and dealing goes on behind closed doors, so-called enemies become strange allies. Meanwhile, we sit around like a bunch of sad sacks, actually thinking that many of these politicos are against us, but a select few fight for what is right. We are taken in by their david vs. goliath dog and pony show, yelling and gesticulating in front of the cameras, rubbing their hands together and cackling in the shadows.

Won't trust you again, Schumer. Not as far as I can throw you, Feinstein.

3. Feinstein always talks a good talk and then does an about face.
Never fails. They are at the Lieberman end of the party and should go with him.

5. Would you rather Bush make a recess appointment
putting a RWer in AG office.

Bush had made up his mind. For the first time ever he had compromised
with the Dems to give them Mukasey. If Mukasey did not go through
and get confirmed, he planned to put a recess appointment in. The
Democrats again would have looked like wimps.

Mukasey may just surprise everyone and take a stand on waterboarding
after he is in the office.

To some Shumer and Feinstein saved the Party from another embarassment.

You have to learn when to hold them, learn when to fold them, when
to walk away and when to run.

9. Could be....
Chuck could be out-gaming the White House gamers by looking like he is caving to get the nom, and then once sworn in, Mukasey will be OUR MAN FOR JUSTICE, TRANSPARENCY AND TRUTH.

Only thing that makes me think this is wacky is that it is so much more complex than it has to be to outwit our left behind child in cheif.

11. is Mary Matalin's husband (what's his name from down out in Louisiana) part of that DLC...
if so , i think you are right! he never answered many of my e-mails to him as to what mary matalin knew on the night of the elections when CNN declared Al Gore the winner and she, who was a co-host there that night kept repeating, "this is wrong, this is wrong. keep watching. you will see how it turns." damn! she was part and parcel of the bush conspiracy to steal the votes. she knew it before hand. she announced before hand. and her louisiana husband knew all about it and never answered the e-mails asking the question what did she know. his silence so too makes him part of the conspiracy to give the country to bush and to the corporatists and to the fascist white supremacy now ruling the country.
