We have nothing against gays, right?
I say, let's invite all of our gay republican friends to drop all the hypocrisy and come on out of that big, gay republican closet.

We won't hurt you guys.

Let's get it all over with in one fell swoop. A hell of lot better than the onesey and twosey revelations that we're getting every week.

Besides, it'll save a lot of trouble, because we're all going to find out about it anyways.

1. It's has to be tough to be a gay Republican.
I feel bad for them. They are stuck between 2 worlds:
1) Believing the right wing economic shit.
2) Being shunned by their own intolerant right wing.

4. I don't think so. They don't have a lot of choice, if they believe the right wing bullshit.

8. Before you get in over your head with my fellow airman, Skittles
Let me point out that I was making a joke.

My stand has always been that the goddamned republicans can just go and fuck themselves.

This applies to those who are either gay or straight.

I'll now leave you to the tender mercies of my good friend.

Skittles, take it away!

15. "we are evidence of that"
great line.

so damn true!

money. i think a major part of why some gay people vote for the big r is because they don't want the dems raising their taxes.

it's a lot about the money.

(and how fucking stupid can they be?)

feel less sorry because they are nothing less than traitors who align themselves with a party that would happily ban homosexuality if it were possible.

And they vote for people who work against the interests of All gay people, including myself.

Think about all of 'em who voted for * in 2000, including Andrew Sullivan.

Uh-uh. "Gay Republican" is a glaring oxymoran.

And if gay people want to vote Republic, then they deserve every bit of misery that comes their way.

You can't imagine how much I loathe those people. :puke:

on edit..typo (as usual)

11. My self-described Log Cabin Republican friend just blows my mind
Edited on Sun Nov-04-07 03:38 AM by kysrsoze
He's such a good friend and I love him to death, but I've asked him multiple times why he supports a party that literally hates his "kind," portrays homosexuality as a sickness, and goes out of its way to persecute those like him. I try to tell him how we Dems are generally much more fiscally conservative, could care less if/why someone is GLB or T, and are trying to make a better world. I point out the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church and he acknowledges it's the case. He particularly HATES pharmaceutical drug company reps due to their manipulative social nature, as do I. He's for personal responsibility. Yet he still acts as if WE're a little nutty, even though long discussions reveal that he and I so much more politically alike than different. Just what motivates Log Cabins to be what they are, rather than fierce Dems? Is it denial?

5. I certainly don't, but I do have something against hypocrisy.
THAT is what gets me about the gay Republicans. Not that they are gay, but that they deny it, and they actively work against gays.

Would gay Republicans who come out turn into Democrats? Barney Frank has done very well by being honest.
