ITS THEIR ARROGANCE..AND IT IS GOING TO BACKFIRE BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF THE US WANT CHENEY GONE |
|
It doesnt matter what their plan is...this is going to backfire..and even if Conyers says it will derail the ongoing investigations..this is important..impeachment and then jail...for the entire bunch of them..

It's really sad seeing all the fear expressed here... people so scared to even TRY to do anything about these crooks, when they're the worst this country has ever seen.
Really sad.

6. I have some questions: |
|
1) Who's 'the majority of us'? America? All Democrats? Democrats on the internet? Democrats on DU? Democrats in General Discussion? 2) If Conyers says it will derail investigations, that is a BIG thing. A big, BAD thing. See, he knows how government works. Believe him. 3) 'Impeachment and then jail'. You might want to review your American Government text. If that's the way you think it works, you're in for another disappointment.

7. well thank you for the civics lesson..but a crime is a crime..and deserves to be prosecuted.. |
|
I'm not going to answer your first question since Cheney's approval rating and popularity is well known...ask your co workers, friends, relatives how they feel about cheney...
conyers released a book last year...George Bush vs the US Constitution...which basically covers the impeachable offenses..he knows..but so do we know, the daily shame and humiliation for what we have become...and in my opinion...all roads lead to cheney
impeachment.. and as the woeful tale unfolds, and the depth of corruption becomes daily fodder on the nightly news.. my greatest hope would be that criminals..especially those who hijacked a nation...would be prosecuted and then go to jail..
thats my vision...you can have yours..im keeping mine

8. If Conyers said !boo!, you'd faint. |
|
Sorry but those investigations are going nowhere, or at least nowhere that will result in any real action prior to 2009. Furthermore, impeachment does not derail investigations, impeachment puts weight behind all those subpoenas that are currently being ignored. Impeachment and investigation go hand in hand and compliment each other. Rep. Conyers is not being honest here.

9. It's all a matter of priority... |
|
Investigating Cheney and how and why we were mislead into war should be Conyer's top priority.

10. It entirely depends on if the Dems can act coherently and with strength |
|
The Repugs are counting on us to fall apart and the evidence is on their side. The Dem leadership was already backpedaling when the vote came down. If the Dems can get their act together, stand up, and fight back they can paste the repugs hard. But if not...
I feel like someone just walked up to a Black Jack table and laid down a $1000 bet. The Repugs stepped up. Now its time for the Dems to do the same.

16. Remember this: The Dem leadership had NOTHING to do with this. This was the work of one man. |

Be sure to remember Dennis Kucinich when you remember this disaster.
