Poll question: Which Republican Candidate scares you the most, electorally speaking? |
|
I mean which one do you think would be the most difficult to beat in the General election; not which one would be the scariest in the White House. Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

5. Ghouliani aims to steal the electoral vote |
|
That's right, the California GOPer plot to redistribute California’s crucial 55 electoral votes by congressional district (as opposed to the current, winner take all method) is BAAAAACK and being funded by Giuliani supporters with deep pockets.

so I voted for McCain. I think the more the public gets to know the real Ghoul, the better it will be for us. His personal life, his record in NYC and his crazy advisor team...
McCain OTOH has a lot of positives in his biography and might be seen as experienced and trustworthy.

8. The Rudester. He can be likeable, and he's a fearless warrior-- |
|
doesn't apologize or act ashamed of his infidelities and personal problems, just keeps marching on as if he has no weaknesses. I am surprised at his resilience. If he gets through the nominating process, he may be tough to beat. I would have said McCain would be tough to beat as well, but he's an uneven performer, and he's really, really old. Too old.

13. Ronald Reagan didn't seem as old as McCain-- |
|
Crazy-Train McCain has a history of emotional blow-ups and forgetting things he's said. I really do question his mental faculties--not just saying that because he's a GOPer (I even still have a soft spot for him). He would be scary as President. He really, really seems to think military action is the best solution to just about every problem, and with the Middle East going up in flames, that's about the last thing we need. I could see him activating the launch code, more than any other candidate.

11. Mitt's essentially not very likeable, so that certainly helps. BUT--if |
|
he manages to shake Thompson and Huckabee loose and pull out a clear win in Iowa, he'll be the early-state frontrunner (he's winning in NH and doing very well in SC)--he and Rudy will be in a death-battle in the big states, and if he wins and somehow starts to become more charming in the general, he could pose a problem. He doesn't seem to have any personal skeletons, and has a solid record and I would say he's the most-qualified on the GOP side.

20. That won't be that much of a factor. There are millions of Mormons |
|
around the country--they're not that weird or foreign, and the "magic underwear" isn't really any different than Catholics wearing Saint medals and praying on Rosaries. People are making too much of it. In the early states, Mitt is doing well--once people see a real live Mormon up close, the religion is not that scary.

there's just no substance there, and not much appeal for most Conservative voters PLUS the evangelical vote will not support him. Ron Paul, on the other hand, is gaining momentum, AND he appeals to Independents. The rabid RWINGer hates him, but for the moderate RW he is worth consideration. I think people underestimate him, and I think if he or Huckkabee got the nom, they would be difficult to beat in an election.
