Obama, in my opinion, is the perfect person to succeed George W. Bush |
|
In my view, Obama is the perfect person to succeed George W. Bush.
One of the first things Bush did as POTUS was to send the word out that he wasn't a big reader.
And of course, when he received that August 6 PDB entitled "bin Laden Determined to Strike Within the United States," he told the CIA person briefing him "You've covered your ass now." In other words....go about your business. I have no time for this.
I see that same trait in Obama, particulary with his missed Senate votes, and the recent revelation that he's missed over 80% of the Senate votes.
His handlers are defending his decision not to bother voting at all on the Mukasey nomination, by saying the vote won't be close, so Obama's vote isn't needed.
NEWSFLASH: It isn't about whether or not Obama could make a difference in the outcome if he were to vote.
The issue is that he, as a United States Senator, should want to be on the Congressional Record as having voted NO on Mukasey. As a Senator, your votes tell a lot about who you are. And if he is really that concerned about Mukasey, Obama should want to history books to be able to record him as having VOTED NO on the nomination.

2. that is what cost Edwards |
|
NC in the last election.
Everyone was ticked that he didn't do his job as "Senator" because he was too busy campaigning.
I think both of them should have waited.

4. And the last North Carolina poll I saw for this year's primary candidates, Hillary was leading |
|
Edwards in his home state.
That says a lot.

3. I guess I shouldn't have voted in 2000 and 2004 |
|
I was a Texas voter, and hey, the presidential vote wasn't going to be close, so why did I bother?

5. I think it's absurd to compare Obama with bush |
|
I'm not happy about his not voting tonight, but he shares nothing in common with bushy.

7. I think the comparison is spot-on |
|
It's a "Don't bother me with work...I've got better things to do than work" attitude that I see in both of them.
