1. BOTH of my Senators voted Nay.
I knew Murray was going to, but I wasn't sure if Cantwell would do that or not.

12. It's totally RIDICULOUS that the folks wanting to get the Dem nomination
won't state their position on such an important subject/vote, isn't it????

Spineless, UNDEDICATED ~ whores ~ (truly they sell themselves, their votes to the highest bidder! It's soooooooooooooooo obvious!)    :disgusted: :disgusted:

18. It was important enough not just to vote on but to filibuster
Edited on Fri Nov-09-07 01:05 AM by magellan
Imagine if one of them had done THAT? I'm for Kucinich, but I would have seriously considered any of the other Dem candidates with the cajones to lead a filibuster of Mukasey. Now it's just too damn late, I've seen too much of this waffling, gutless BS over the last 3 years. There's nothing to admire in their absence from this vote. It's INEXCUSABLE.

edited to add: I note BleedingHeartPatriot's explanation for their absence in the link below. Supposedly Reid scheduled the vote tonight at a request from the REPUBS, and these four didn't have time to get back to DC. How hilarious. He surrendered outright.

How dare they not vote. All I can say, if any of them gets the nomination, is that I'm not voting.

13. Feinstein's vote just makes me ill and her rationale makes me sicker...
scrubbo may have recessed appointed someone worse.

By her logic, "If scrubbie had proposed Mussolini, she'd have voted for him because scrub might have then chosen Hitler as a recess appointment."

She's useless.

19. Technically
They call themselves "New Democrats", which is essentially synonymous with Blue Dog House Reps.

This is the latest list I found, with Lieberman likely gone from that group.

Sen. Max Baucus of Montana
Sen. Thomas R. Carper of Delaware
Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota
Sen. Tim Johnson of South Dakota
Sen. Herb Kohl of Wisconsin
Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana
Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut
Sen. Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas
Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida
Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska
Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas
Sen. Ken Salazar of Colorado
Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan

At least a few of them, including Bill Nelson, Salazar, Lincoln, and Pryor decided not to betray us this time.

But of the 5 Dems who did vote to confirm, only Schumer and Feinstein aren't formally alligned with the NDN.

21. Voinovich, unless faced with a good opponent, will probably remain a Senator.
Because Ohio's stupid and loves name-recognition graced morans. GOD that guy sucks. Complete obstructionist and Bewsh rubberstamp.

Thankfully, he's countered with Sherrod Brown, who very rarely makes an error in voting.

He'd have the North locked. No amount of Swift Boating would save Voinovich there.

Robert Byrd said that he would vote for Mukasey, as he (Byrd) thought that Presidents should be given the nominees of their choice.

But he did the right thing and voted Nay! Good on ya, Bobby!

Both Arkansas Senators voted No, Nelson of FL voted No, Casey PA voted No, American Hero Jim Webb voted No, Mc Caskill and Salazar voted No.

They have no excuse except they are totally worthless representatives.

33. Oh I can
In fact I expected her too. Olympia! is just as much a BushBot as Susan when it comes to the WOT. Susan may go down to defeat in '08 (I hope), but getting rid of Olympia! on the next go around would be a very sweet victory.

That sorry trio of Susan, Olympia!, and her husband Jock (now a DC lobbyist) has done more to hurt Maine than any I can think of now.
