Can't afford gas
I made the mistake of buying an RV trailer back in August. Now that gas is $3.50 a gallon, sadly it's just being parked in the storage lot. My family envisioned some family trips with it to the Grand Canyon and Zion Natl Park. Maybe I can get a Diesel truck and convert it to Bio-Diesel? We did get one nice trip to Yosemite out of it so far.

1. That is odd.

This graph says that prices were about the same in August as they are right now if not a little higher.

But, let's say they were 40 cents a gallon apart. On a 40 gallon tank that is only a $16 difference.

3. Are you planning ahead for the $5.00 a gallon? LOL If you store it now, so
you can't use it then?

4. I bought a new 32 ft in Jan
and a new truck to pull it. I get 6 MPG when I tow it. My truck wasn't available in diesel in Jan. They didn't come out until June. I put on about 10,000 miles this year.

Retirement is great.:)

5. Conversion to biodiesel is easy
Any diesel engine can run straight biodiesel. The only change that you might have to make is to switch out the neoprene fuel lines for metal ones, not costly or tough to do. You can also make your own biodiesel, there are several sites out there that are selling their own biodiesel making kits(aprox. $2-3000 a kit, but well worth it considering that the fuel you're making only costs seventy to eighty cents a gallon). It is easy to make, the only waste you have is water and glycerin(which you can sell to a soap maker) and biodiesel is easier on your engine, promoting a longer life for your vehicle.

When you're on the road, I know that there are stations that sell biodiesel, mostly out west. I would get on the web and check.

My next pickup is going to be have a diesel engine, as will the tractor I buy. It isn't just a matter of money for me however, I'm simply trying to lessen my impact on our environment too.

7. Now that we have made the
big move out to the farm where we have the room we are thinking about going in with another friend who drives a diesel truck like mine. We figured we could make it together and share it. I would love to get my tractor running on it too.
