‘Shock and awe hits home.’

A new study by Physicians for Social Responsibility, which shared the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize, predicts that “healthcare for Iraq veterans could top $650 billion, another warning of a looming social crisis as thousands of veterans struggle with mental and physical disabilities and other disruptions to family life.” More on the challenges faced by veterans in today’s Progress Report here:

1. That is why Bush wants a war with Iran.
To make sure none of our troops make it home alive to need healthcare.

5. Heartbreaking
This has been preying on my conscience for sometime. Two days ago, I mailed off letters to my rep, both senators, my governor, state rep & senators pleading that they galvanize and take an active interest to help our vets. It's not enough to just meet with a vet so they can have a photo op & speak about it later, which some seem to do.

I'm trying to do what I can. I mail packages and give regularly to the vet orgs, but I just can't shake off that so many of them are suffering when we can help alleviate the physical and emotional sufferings (& their families suffering too). The latest report states that 1 out of 4 vets are now homeless. WHY???

There's a massive group in this country who preach about morals and American values. I sure in the hell like to know what and where they are.

What gets me, is the abuse inflicted upon our troops begins while they are still active. Not giving them effective tools, protection, rest and medical care to name a few. Pandering to private and special interests at the expense of the military is so blatantly wrong, yet it lines the campaign coffers, doesn't it?

Morals? Only if they are enriching ...

6. W is a true Sadist....
he delights in seeing others hurt and maimed. And the fact that he is causing it really gets him off.

Kucinich is right...the man is mentally sick!
