Biden files to get public money for 2008 campaign
Biden, who has raised $8.2 million for his bid and has spent about $6.3 million, submitted paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to qualify for government matching funds to help him compete in what will likely be the most expensive U.S. presidential campaign in history.

Biden joins Edawrds in pledging to finance their runs with public funds.

I really wish someone would win with public financing and then work to make that the law.

1. Biden agrees with you regarding public financing. He's introduced legislation
calling for it - MAYBE even more than once. I'm looking for info now.

Regardless, it seems only fair to US that all candidates have to play by the same financial rules - this buying of the Presidency cheats us of having all the information needed to make a wise choice.

3. I like Biden. And if he has tried to pass public financing
I like him more.

4. I posted a thread with a link to a Biden interview in Iowa -- here's something
else you might find interesting (I never knew this):

"I haven't met with a lobbyist in 35 years as a senator. I won't do it," he said, acknowledging, however, that the ban does not apply to his staff.

Also, he was expressing his opinion (and doesn't he always? :7 ) that the Dems aren't learning lessons from previous elections. Although I don't agree with him on his assessment of some issues he cites in the article, this is typical Biden - and I believe him:

"My problem with that is -- and you're going to think this is pure political crap -- I don't want to be President if that's the way I have to win. Because if I win, I can't govern that way. How the hell do you establish a consensus?"

If you're interested in reading the entire article...

And regardless of the outcome of this election, I have faith he'll keep fighting the good fight for public financing.

2. Imagine that, clean elections in America?!???
2000--stolen
2004--stolen
2008--??? ask Greg Palast
If you ever hope to get your country back, you'll need clean elections first;
and Biden is in the best position to get this done

Joe Biden doesn't 'owe' anyone
that means no 'special interests' controlling the agenda, imagine that!
