When I was born there was a war. I was told that the soldiers
fighting that war kept us safe. I didn't understand what war was but I believed it.

When I was a little older, there was another war.I read about it in school and thought it must be awful to fight a war on the other side of the world. I didn't understand politics at the time, all I knew was that my favorite baseball player was there to fly jet planes and attack the enemy. We were still safe.

When I was in my early twenties, there was another war and I understood that this was no war to keep us free. It was a war we joined for reasons many of us will never understand, no matter who explains it to us. Men went to war because the government wanted us to go to war. I was old enough to know that it was not a war to keep us free.

Now I am old, there is another war. This time I know why we are at war. It is because of greed and politics. It is about money and power. It has nothing to do with keeping us free. It has made the world more unsafe for all of us. The only constant is the bravery and valor shown by our soldiers. They have made the sacrifices, not the fools who sent them to fight this war.

We are free and we are alive. Now if we can just get smart and end this war so the next generation does not have to travel this same lifetime circle. So more brave citizens of the world do not have to die fighting a mad, deadly fight to see who is the biggest fool of all.

Peace
