5. thank you. i didnt have this site, but looked on other rating sites
avalon and others didnt get high ratings, had me concerned. seems like the people are rating this high. there is always a psychological thing going on with rating something we spent so much money on, but yes, feels good to hear they say good things. and yes, i think it is important to hear the people on the board, or others with the car, to get a feel what they think

i have had it spending so damn much money on a car to get shoddy.

6. I looked at the hybrid Camry
I was trading in a Saturn L300. I looked at and test drove a Camry, but wound up buying a Prius--the mileage was much better, it had lots of room inside, and it was just plain "neater" than the Camry. The Prius isn't as comfy as the Camry (or the Saturn, for that matter), but I can live without heated seats.

7. Be careful of new Toyotas
Consumer Reports said on Tuesday that it was reversing a practice of recommending all new Toyota cars and trucks after two models earned below-average rankings in a closely watched reliability study.

==

“Consumer Reports will no longer recommend any new or redesigned Toyota-built models without reliability data on a specific design,” the publication said in a statement. ”Previously, new and redesigned models were recommended because of the automaker’s excellent track record.”

8. If your current car works then you have no reason to buy a new car

My parents have a 2007 Camry Hybrid and it gets 39-42 mpg in real world driving.

The only complaints are the following: Regardless of the battery, the trunk could be bigger and the shape of the hood tricks me into thinking I am not parking straight when pulling into a stall.

9. but i do have reasons. i dont like my car. i have a young niece with a baby
that could use a dependable car and i have only 31k miles on it. i can finance her, seeing how she is poor. and a hybrid would not only save me money on gas over the years, but be better for our environment.

so... yes i do have some reasons.

and

thanks for the info on yours/your parents experience
