So, Bush played a video game in which he supposedly shot the bad guys in Iraq
Edited on Mon Nov-12-07 09:57 PM by journalist3072
So I'm listening to Keith Olberman's podcast.

And he's telling this amazing story of how Bush showed up at a rehab center in San Antonio last week and played video games with wounded veterans.

And apparently, as Dana Perino explained it to the press corps, the video game he played with the vets was one that simulates a firefight in Bagdad. Perino told the press that Bush "helped shoot the bad guys in a bad neighborhood."

What?! So I take it that Bush thinks this civil war in Iraq is just some game. Newsflash, George: it's not a game. People are dying every day in Iraq, and you have nothing better to do than play a video game where you supposedly shoot the bad guys?

On second thought....maybe this video game was quite appropriate for Bush. He just pretends to be a Commander-in-Chief every day. So why not pretend like he's on the battlefield shooting the bad guys? Because a real Commander-in-Chief would make sure their troops had the proper equipment on the battlefield. A real Commander-in-Chief would make sure wounded vets received the medical and mental health services they needed upon their return home. A real Commander-in-Chief would be outraged about the number of homeless veterans we have. A real Commander-in-Chief would be outraged by the number of veterans who aren't able to get their job back when they return home.

2. My problem is that when he speaks he means what he says...
He shooting at "the bad guys"....you see my problem is while our soldiars were fighting they were getting shot back at, blown up, maimed and killed.

When I heard this story I couldn't believe how inmature and disrepectful he was. I even bet that the soldiars were told to lose to him.

3. I don't believe at least part of the story
In social situations, the President is always the leader no matter what. In touch footballs games, he's the quarterback; softball games, the pitcher, etc. It's just natural that because of his status, others will let him lead - moreso if you're in the military. So I'm sure that when they started playing this game, they let Bush be in command, and I have no doubt in my mind that Bush either got himself fragged by walking off a building or into traffic or got them all wasted.
