3. It occurs to me
that the protesters could split up, bracket the damn emitter, and disable it.

But I've played Command & Conquer, so I realize how simple a tactic that is for a single emitter. How many of them they would deploy in a real Situation would alter those tactics, of course.

Can microwaves be effectively reflected?

4. It would be interesting to play with some parabolic shields
Get the focal length right and you could aim them back.

Chain mail might be able to shield an individual, but would probably spark a bit.

18. Oh. I *like* that idea.
A parabolic shield to send it all screaming right back into their teeth.

Niiiice. :D

11. And they call us tinfoil hatters crazy
We wear them for good reason.

Seriously... I've heard that those tinfoil space blankets might work against the microwave weapons. A little easier to manage than tin foil.

23. Google "retroreflector" -- reflects radiation back to its source
Edited on Tue Nov-13-07 11:32 PM by eppur_se_muova
The simplest retroreflector consists of three sides of a cube, with a common corner (i.e. three reflectors meeting at three 90 degree angles). For microwave radiation, this could be wire screen mesh or the sort of perforated screen seen in microwave oven doors. An array of corner reflectors could easily be made by molding wire screen to a form.

on edit: Might make a nice umbrella. Could also use Al-coated Mylar (space blanket) but could not see through it as well.

Unbelievable. And from the article >

The only other interesting detail: the injury cost the military $17,748.00.

14. If you can't stand the heat stay out of the protest?
Or 'it's better than bullets'?
Or 'a small price to pay to prevent a massacre instigated by violent protestors'?

20. I wrote to all three of my (D) Federal electeds over a year ago. NONE answered.
Jay Inslee, Maria Cantwell, and Patty Murray of Washington state:
ALL Democrats (well, two are DLC, so in my opinion that makes them republican imposters).

I emailed about an AP report that the Secretary of the Air Force had suggested using such weapons (microwave) against U.S. citizens for crowd control, back in September of 2006. It was posted on the website of CNN. I included the links to the article and asked them if those plans were in place.

I emailed them in September 2006, and I'm still waiting for ANY response.
