Sick as a dog and pissed off... |
|
I woke up yesterday with major stomach cramps. Had to call out from work today because I've been so sick. I'm beginning to wonder if it isn't E Coli. Let's just say I have most of the symptoms excepting the vomiting and high fever. I don't vomit, so that's no surprise. Not without consuming large quantities of alcohol, anyway.
I'm slowly getting better, thankfully. I'll be calling out from work tomorrow morning too. Hopefully that'll be enough recovery time. If I'm still suffering certain unpleasant symptoms, I'm going to be forced into the hospital. Yay. Nothing like being just as uncomfortable in a place I can't stand, forced to wait for hours for any kind of attention.
I'd rather suffer at home. Doesn't hurt that I know the only things they're likely to do is force liquids into me (I'm getting plenty on my own) and, worst-case-scenario, give me a lower GI. Fuck that.
I feel like crap. Signed back into DU after a break and see the same suspects spewing the same old useless shit. Bah. Why do I get the feeling that the only problem some people have with the destruction of the Constitution and our civil rights is that it's the Republicans are doing it?
I'm so tired of corporatists and apologists for our would-be fascist overlords. And I'm really tired of reading their drivel HERE of all places.
I'm low on patience right now.

but my wife isn't forcing the issue. I loathe hospitals and that's about the only fast way to see a doctor. If I'm suffering from stomach cramps and the need to go to the bathroom far too regularly, the last thing I need to be doing is sitting in an uncomfortable ER waiting room for hours on end.
And there really isn't much they can do but stave off secondary complications--which I can do myself.

5. Do you have any insurance and regular doctor? |
|
if you do, call your TRIAGE nurse tomorrow morning...
If you get really dehydrated and electrolytes are off whack, then it becomes an emergency room visit through a nice ambulance ride
This is no joke
That is why I told you... if you think this is E. Coli you need to go to the doctor. They will require you to poop for the lab, so they can get this tested... but they will start you on the meds you need to control it... and you will feel much, and i mean this much better within twenty four hours
Trust me, if you have E-Colli and you don't... it could potencially kill you
And as a former medic I also hate hospitals
I went to one because I got a bleeding ear... it was either stupid (thankfully though we are all still puzzled, how I managed to get an abrassion in the ear canal... good question) or it could have been very serious.
