This could be Stephen Colbert's "Best Ever" video from The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart!
It's from the January 18, 2003 Daily Show and called,

"Stephen Colbert's, So You're Living in a Police State"

At this link: <http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=127321&title=so-youre-living-in-a-police>

:redbox: Note: You need the latest "Flash Player" installed (ver. 9 is the latest). I had trouble getting this one to play in FireFox ver. 2.0.0.8. I and had to switch to Internet Explorer 7 to get it to work, then I got it to work in IE via the "IE Tab" Firefox Plug-in, but now, for some reason I can't even begin to explain, it works for me in FireFox even without using IE Tab. I don't know why.

6. Try going to "Videos" (at the top of the page) then setting the date with the sliders.
Like I said, I've had LOTS of trouble getting this particular show (and clip) to play for me, but believe me, it's well worth a little extra effort, it AWESOME!

I'm not seeing any pre-clip commercials today (I did the first few times I used the site, but not now), but I do still get the post-clip commercial.

I haven't a clue why, that just how it's working for me today.

3. How the Hell did I miss THAT one? Jan. of '03!
WOW!

Just two months before the invasion of Iraq. The laughs in the audience were sure nervous ones, weren't they.

This is why I think these guys are heroes!

14. Maybe you had a "cable outage" that night? Here's another of my favorites...
...of all time, it's in 2 part (both links) from June 23, 2002, or at least that's what the label on the "Motherload" player says, but I know for a fact that it was the second and third clips from the show this clip came from, which is labeled as June 24, 2002 at the new Daily Show website, that clip is linked below ones I'm referring to:

Part B-1:

Part B-2:

8. Sorry about that, like I said, I had some trouble getting this clip to play (for weeks actually)...
...but keep trying, it's worth it!

Note: you might want to try clicking the "Video" tab at the top, then setting the date January 18, 2003 with the sliders. Trust me, this one is worth the extra effort.

18. I'm glad there was NO problem!
Some of it is irrational and possibly unjustified dislike of Microsoft, but MOST of it is right on --- I just HATE it when I have to start up Internet Explorer! Fortunately, the need for doing so is becoming less and less each day. Either Firefox addresses the rare problems in their updates, or web-designers are becoming more aware of Mozilla/Firefox popularity. Probably both.

Sometime this month, there will be a Mozilla-based browser available for my Nokia N800 WiFi handheld. I'm really looking forward to that!

20. I'm sure you know, Mozilla/Firefox have some sort of reporting system for problem websites...
...I've always had troubles getting their videos to play right at the Comedy Central websites for months, possibly years now, and find it hard to believe that the Comedy Central's websites have never been reported to Mozilla, but I wonder if it's something that has been put on a "low priority" list or something.

We should try to organize a email campaign, to both Viacom and Comedy Central and to Mozilla/Firefox and maybe even Adobe, to fix these problems. I don't know if it would work, but we should try.

15. Ooow, this one's rather timely. "St. Patrick's Gay Parade" (Mayor Giuliani related)
(I may have to search this site for more Giuliani reminders)

March 17, 1999 - <http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=122248&title=st.-patricks-gay-parade>

St. Patrick's Gay Parade

Like St. Patrick and the snakes, Mayor Giuliani and a contingent of the NYPD
are using the St. Patrick's Day parade to drive minorities out of Manhattan.

17. I think that one of the "truism's" of good comedy...
...it goes something like, "the best comedy is firmly rooted in reality." Or something like that.
