And the music is Kool and the Gang... 1970's fuel source, 1970's music... hey I get it...

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...

Does the coal industry think they are gonna convince us to suddently change our minds... they must be smoking their coal or something...

7. Exactly
"Clean coal" is an oxymoron. (Or oxymoran. They're Repug, the coal big wigs, aren't they?)

Nice to see you again, Sam. Been keeping yourself well?

12. there is a clean coal process that actually removes the co2, which they inject into depleted oil
wells and recovers more oil from them..

but they dont want to invest the hundreds of billions of dollars they make in infrastructure.. they want the tax payers to foot the bill then charge more for the electricity.

the process is called coal gasification

4.  Coal provides 50% of electrical energy used in the US TODAY -
- The next largest source of electrical energy in the US is nuclear at 19.3% based on 2005 figures. Coal is very much a 21st century energy source, like it or not. If we want to reduce coal energy we need to turn off our computers, TV's, lights and every other electrical appliance.

5. MORE NUKES, MORE SOLAR, MORE ANYTHING BUT COAL!
Coal is the leading cause of global warming and is actually an 18TH century energy source, not a 21sth century one. It is the dirtiest, most polluting of water, destructive of mountains, and has put more heavy metals and radioactive material into the air than any other source.

9. Coal is the #1 source of electrical energy in the US at this point in the 21st Century -
- so that makes it very much a 21st Century energy source. I know how nasty it is as I have family who work the mines in KY and family ancestors who died in them. I agree with more nuclear, solar, anything but coal BUT not everyone feels that way. Coal is big money in WV, KY, and parts of PA. Many disagree with more nuclear. Hydro isn't practical everywhere. What to do???

10. NO that does NOT make is 21st century...just long over due for replacement.
Coal puts more radioactivity into the air every single day than nuclear ever has.

Coal causes more CO2 greenhouse gas warming than any other carbon based fuel because hey - it's pure carbon.

Whole mountains, valleys and rivers are being destroyed by "mountain top removal" strip mining all the time - it is an obscene attack on the environment.

My answers:

MORE NUKE!

MORE SOLAR!
