KO flubbed the Worst persons' tonight - said 0 A.D. was date of Jesus' DEATH. Oops.
Now he will have to put himself on Worst persons in the World on Monday, 'cause that's the kind of Mensch he is.
Too bad - he started of by correcting O'reilly, who said the "Book of Revelations" (sic) was "What, about 5000 years ago" (!!!?WTF?!!)

But, then he said "Let me go through this reeeeaally slowly..." and then said it was about 2007 years ago, because Anno Domini zero =date of Jesus death (rather than birth)
------------ouch--------

Nor did he point out the book of revelation (no S) was written about 96 AD, so about 1911 years ago. (Yes there are different estimates of both JC's birth and that vision of John's, but roughly 100 years after JC's death is easy to remember)

But at least he got it MUCH closer than Bill. Jeezus Chrastomaghty! For SUCH a RELIGIOUS man, him be quite the idjit.

By correcting, Keith can bring it up again, heh.

1. It's a damned good thing that KO has you for his voice of conscience
:eyes:

KO has a record of correcting himself. I'm sure that he doesn't need any self appointed editor yahoos telling him what he needs to do.

2. Thank you for being so kind. I love Keith, and said he would correct it.
He made an oopsie. That's all.
Maybe you did not read my post?

Let me go over this reeeaally slowly...why the hostility?
I am sorry if it offended you.
But hey, I am just a yahoo, right.

I am sure he will have a MUCH better attitude about a little booboo he made, will LAUGH about it -and will make himself one of the "Worst Persons" on Monday. I would bet he has editors, and would have appreciated a fact checker on this.
Because, as I said, he is a MENSCH, a person of integrity and honor.

It was also a way to mention Bill O'Reilly thinks Revelation was written 5000 frickin years ago.
Bill the War on Christmas guy, Defender of the FAITH.

Now THAT's news!

4. WOW...I think you took that post the wrong way...
I don't think the OP meant it meanly. And if he does correct it, good, he should.

The good thing about this post is that if any DUer who sees this happens to run into a rightwinger who tries to make a big deal out of the small error, the DUer will already be aware of the matter and can cut them off at the pass.

5. Thanks MADem, I could NEVER be mean to the modern day Murrow!
Keithie is mah hero! :patriot:

I LOVE it that when he does a correction, he makes himself "Worst person" and thereby shows what a person of integrity IS, and by comparison trumps everyone from O'Reillt to NYTimes. AND he gets to repeat the story. The man is a genius.

He will catch it, correct it, and make it into a win squared.
I would bet on it!

O'Reilly, the boy who SAVED Christmas, was off by 3089 years. HAH!
I would LOVE to hear his explanation of that, off the cuff.

This was like the time Colbert asked some Southern GOP congressman who wanted 10 commandments in public courts "What are the 10 commandments?" and boy did that guy blather "Don't lie, don't cheat, don't uhh steal..."

sometimes the simple pleasures are the best...

7. It is latin-- Anno Domini--it means "In the Year of Our Lord."
Christ was crucified in AD 33, more or less. There's some squawking about the accuracy of the system, as it was not initiated until some centuries after the death of JC.

BC, of course, is 'Before Christ.'

9. My....
with all the turmoil in the world THIS is important! :eyes:

This only makes a difference if you believe the Big Lie anyway. Would anyone be making a big stink about this if Dr. Suess's "Hop on Pop" was misquoted? They both have the same amount of intellectual gravity as far as I'm concerned.

If this is the worst thing KO has done on his show I think we can all consider ourselves extremely fortunate.

In short, who cares?

12. I guess those who believe in accuracy?
Especially when you're going after folks who aren't accurate--like O'Lielley

14. That is the crux of the matter so to speak, Trumad.
Let him get on it before the enemy does, and turn it in his favor.
Because every move in the direction of the collapse of the O"Reilly darkstar is a good one.
We just gotta keep on, cover each others' backs and shower them with derision and scorn.

Then do lunch.

10. Did you e-mail him? I was going to last night, but forgot.

It's my dog's fault, she decided she wanted to go out right after that -- maybe she was upset about the mistake, too.

It would be better for us to tell him than for O'Really to jump on this, and who knows if any of Keith's studio people noticed, or if he realized it later?

Where Bill-O came up with the idea that the Book of Revelation (NO 'S' ) was written 5,000 years ago is a mystery to me. He ought to know it's the last book of the New Testament and therefore had to date no earlier than during the life of Jesus.

KO was a lot closer but close only counts in horseshoes.

I kept it light, full of praise and my clumsy humor.
He can make this a positive, no problem.
I gave him some extra ammo, too.

O8)

As a poster above says, it doesn't matter in the big picture,
there are many bigger issues,
yet more frivolous threads,
and if one doesn't care about a topic
but feels compelled
to read and reply,
well I just don't see
the treasure
in that endeavor.
