3. Pretty lame
Where's the response provoking vehemence? Where's is the irksome bombasticness?

Buck it up

9. I'm sorry...I lobbed that one already in another thread
I felt it bad form to re-use irksome bombasticness!

2. But, if I post in someone else's flamewar thread instead of starting my own...
I don't get as much attention!

4. She throws like a girl!
Actually, she's way down my list of preferred candidates, but I'll vote for her if she wins.

And yeah, I'm sick of the over-the-top stuff too. She's not the devil, and (Democratic candidate of your choice) is not Jesus.

And that's all I have to say about that.

8. I fucking well love this woman
she's going to be an awesome president and all of the haters out there should just get over it. Mister Ears isn't going to win even an imaginary election (his ass would get kicked by Ron Paul), the guy with the haircut already lost once and doesn't deserve a second chance, and the guy who isn't running, ISN'T RUNNING. So there. HA!

10. Actually, this isn't a bad idea
Maybe there should be a support thread and a flamewar thread for each candidate. It would save a lot of repetition and bandwidth!

12. A fun read for Hillary proponents and non-haters -- also, a warning to women
The following is an amusing piece for Hillary enthusiasts, but it also contains a serious warning to all women. Sooner or later, Rove & Co. might decide to cut into women's registration rolls in the same fashion that they've been going after African-American voters -- since women vote in significantly higher numbers for Democrats. Anyone who is concerned about this should make sure that they're voting I.D.'s are in order, and CONSISTENT.

I'm very concerned about Tweety. He will be so exorcised over this in the next week that if he doesn't speak fast enough, he will surely drown in his own spit. The "He Man Women Haters Club" has no place for an upstart girl who will want to come in and reupholster the chairs in a Laura Ashley floral. There is no room in the tree house.

SNIP

No, Tweety, you have nothing to worry about. Do not be troubled that we might want to exercise a little authority, assert our rights, seek vengeance or see one of our own, who seems to know what the fuck she's doing, succeed to the most powerful position on earth.

It's not like Hillary Clinton is a personification of a pagan moon goddess who is going to re-establish our supremacy through some matriarchal social system, even if that did kinda work out for us. Ha-ha-ha!, that is so silly of you. I mean, there's no reason to vote for her because she's a girl

No, that would be petty and anachronistic and un-Christian and speaks of gender identity politics and that is soooo outre. We aren't out to settle the score for the millenia of mistreatment and disrespect. Perish the thought!

Then again, I did detect a little glisten in Campbell's eye. Just a little one. I saw it. And if I'm right about these things, Dan will completely miss it as Campbell gently kisses him on the lips and pinches the baby's cheek just before she steps into that voting booth next year to worship at the Temple of the Sisterhood.

13. I am fucking sick of seeing her in every other thread.
She doesn't have enough support at DU to dominate the board like this.

I don't need to "hate," "smear," "bash," or otherwise attack her. I JUST WON'T FUCKING VOTE FOR HER, EVER, AND ALL OF THE ATTACK THREADS AND SNEERING THREADS AND HATE THREADS AREN'T GOING TO CHANGE THAT.

While we're at it, I'm not going to vote for Obama, either. I don't like his politics, and I don't like his campaign, although I posted a defense in an attack thread this morning.

He also doesn't have enough support at DU to justify taking up so much space on the front page.

Since he and HRC poll at about 11-12% each here on Du, I suggest that no more than 25 % of the threads on the front page of any forum be about either of them.

Making the board a cleaner, friendlier, place to discuss more worthy candidates.

Okay, that's out of my system. I'll now return to the time-wasting but satisfying entertainment of the day, "hiding" all the Clobama threads I see.

15. She obviously is controversial enough to generate this many threads.
The DU polls aren't scientific in the least. There's no way to really verify what the support for each candidate is here, not that it matters. People post what they want to post.

17. Hey, don't piss on my flamewar, lol.
I was invited to rant, so I did.

I'll gladly give up using polls to back up my points if everyone else will, too.

I say we ban all polls.

19. There are polls, and then there are polls.
I briefly worked for a major polling organization, where I learned the care that the big ones put into their work -- so I'm picky. No self-selected polls for me.

But you're right, this was supposed to be a flame war. So flame away!

That would be a first.
