There's been little coverage of Typhoon Sidra and the tragedy this is causing. However covering these stories requries something these networks don't have nor want...journalists. They cost too much money and their stories aren't "sexy" enough. It's more important to manufacture and manipulate news than to actually cover it.
The parallels with Katrina are eerie. The big difference is much of the Ganges delta is full of small hamlets close to the water and easily flooded. IRC, a similar tragedy happened in 1971 that led to Bangladesh's independence.
