CNN: " If you want cheap gas, head for Tucson, AZ"..
Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 01:15 PM by SoCalDem
It's a BARGAIN, I tell ya.. $2.91 a gallon..

Can't you hear those engines starting all over america?? people heading for Tucson to buy their gas..

People are creatures of habit, and they buy gas, based on convenience to their homes or jobs.. They do not have time or interest to burn a quarter tank of gas driving around to save 50cents..

Gas companies KNOW this, and they will damned well charge whatever they want to, and we will still buy the stuff..why?? because we have to get to work, school, to the store..

When gas edged closed to the $2 mark, I told my friends.."watch.. people will squawk when it hits $2, but they will still buy it and when it's up over $3, they will still buy it..and then when it "settles" back to $2.50, people will say THANK GOD gas is "cheaper" now".... completely forgetting that there was NO reason for it to be as high as it was..

My friend commented about how happy she would be if the "gas shortage" ended.. i reminded her that there were no closed stations, no "out-of-gas" signs, no lines..

We are all just being conned, and unfortunately we cannot make our own gasoline , so we pay what they charge..no matter how pissed off we get.

5. LOL SoCal I JUST heard that
I almost spit up the last bit of salad that I was eating.

honey pack up the bags we are DRIVIN' TO TUCSON to get us some of that cheap gas.

:bounce:

I notice that the reporting was rather matter of fact about how it is tied directly to the price of oil going up which (probably the exact same reporter) used to be dismissed as it is "more complicated than just that"

No one mentioned the fact that a whole buncha people are going to be driving in the coming weeks and driving MORE than usual.

6. It's not that Tucson is an 11 hour flight from here
But the fact that they wouldn't let me take my car on as cabin baggage nixed the deal for me.

8. since when is $2.91 considered a bargain?
no one should ever lose sight of that fact and fall for their deception to trick you into accepting inflated costs as a "bargain". I recall when $2.00 was considered an outrage.
