Poll question: Which of these Southern states will Hillary Clinton
Edited on Tue Nov-20-07 09:14 AM by rateyes
win in the General Election if she is the Democratic nominee? Since we can't vote more than once in a poll I'll post several polls at different times--maybe one or two a day.

I am convinced that Hillary Clinton is not likely to be elected as POTUS if she gets the Democratic Nomination because she can't win any Southern states. But, I want to find out if DU agrees with me.

EDIT: BTW, it would be helpful to me, if you wish, regardless of how you vote to say whether or not you live in the state in question, or in the South, in general. Thanks.

Therefore, the first question:

In the General Election, if Hillary Clinton is the Democratic Nominee, will she win

FLORIDA?

3. The Democratic nominee -- whoever it is -- will win Florida in 2008.
You heard it here first.

6. I'm bookmarking the thread...
and, I hope you're right, Skinner. I don't see it happening...especially if he/she is running against a popular Southern governor.

9. I hope you're right...
After Katherine Harris and the Brooks Brothers Mafia did their hatchet job in 2000, you'd think the state would be electric blue by now. But I'm not so optimistic.

14. Do you happen to live there?
I would like to hear from some of the DU'rs who live there what the attitude on the street is.

4. Florida's party apparatus is engaged in a cold civil war...

I think the Republicans will take it in 2008 and possibly 2012 as well.

5. Start with Virginia and move south and west and you won't find a state she will win.

11. That's what I think...
I've lived in Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia and Texas, and have been involved in politics in all of those states, and I don't think Clinton can win any of them.

12. Really? You don't think she could win CA, OR, WA?
How interesting. Not only do I think she would win those states, I think she could win NM, Ohio and VA.

16. Did you see the word "south" in my post? Draw a line south west (225 degrees)
draw a line at 225 degrees from north, South west, from anywhere in Virginia and see if it passes through CA, OR or WA. I might grant you NM though.

7. Thanks to the DNC
has already cost us Florida no matter who the candidate is. Then I find Donna Brazeal was their representative in the negotiations with Mrs. Thurman it really makes me sick.

8. Gotta disagree with you on that one...
and welcome to DU. :hi:

IMO, the Democratic party in Florida is to blame for the delegate fiasco. They voted for the rules, and then they intentionally broke the rules. If Florida loses its delegates, it's Florida's own fault.

13. The Primary Date
Was set by the Republican Legislature signed by the Republican Governor. The DNC then forced the no delegate rule, if I follow it correctly. Feel free to educate me beyond that for it is very disturbing for a Fl resident. Now the ballot is loaded with Republican proposals to the State Constitution because the Democrats will probably stay home on January 29th.

15. How many Democratic votes did the primary date get in the legislature?
And, aren't Republican delegates being barred from the Republican Convention, too?

18. Hmm, I don't know
How many of the Democrats voted for it. I do know they wanted the primary moved up. I recall the Republicans getting only a partial on their delegates unless they have changed it.

That is a mighty impressive Cardinal logo.
