Americans not to happy with choices for President
FoX News--Morning Show.

Fox ran a poll questioning American People on how they
feel about the Top Tier or Top Three Candidates in respective
parties.

Results indicate that a little over 50% of Republicans are
dissatisfied with the top 3 Candidates in their party.

And 46% of Democrats are dissatisfied with the top 3 candidates
in their party.

This does not sound too good--should we just start all over
again????????????

2. I am satisfied with the top 3 Dems
Haven't made up my mind yet, though. However, I can see the Repubs upset with their top 3 choices: all RINOS to the conservative base.

3. You gotta remember that polls like that usually have a high margin
of error, and all conclusions based on those statistics are highly suspect.

This time it will be flowers tossed at the limo, not eggs!

5. It's way too early to be concerned about polls.
It's like buying flowers now for next year's Valentine's Day. They won't make it that long, and neither will the opinions in these polls.

They're fine for entertainment purposes, but too much will happen in the meantime that will affect the outcome.

11. Yes, one name in particular comes to mind that could change the landscape
big time: AL GORE.

That would definitely make all polls up to this point obsolete.

Wesley Clark.

As we both agree, it's still too early to call.

31. I said "Gore-Feingold!"
That brought some enthusiasm. The only objection was "I don't wanna lose Feingold as my Senator!

Actually, nobody mentioned Clark.

The election was probably stolen in Cuyahoga and Warren Counties.

10. The average person doesn't know enough and the party
professionals know too much. I think once the top three candidates get their message out, they'll be picking up support. Professionals know every little detail of the candidates' lives and will always find something to complain about. It's a case of the search for perfection driving out the merely good.

13. On the Democratic side, I think it's because what we need is an FDR--
tough, experienced, smart, visionary--a very strong, progressive peace-maker--as well as someone with a solidly-grounded but also magnetic personality who can rally the spirits of this battered nation. All the current candidates--even some of the better ones (Obama, Clark) fail on some critical criterion. Hillary fails on many of them. And Dodd, in my opinion, is a demagogue (the Bilderberg Group's (corporatist) stealth candidate, who colluded with Tom Delay and Bob Ney in turning our election system over to rightwing Bushite corporations).

So where does that leave us? Al Gore seems to be the only potential candidate who fulfills all (or most) of what is NEEDED--and his election would be in the nature of a Restoration. He SHOULD HAVE BEEN president all this time--and everybody knows it. That gives him a distinct advantage, against all others, in what will continue to be Diebold/ES&S elections (5% to 10% "thumb on the scales" against the peoples' choice--Gore has the potential to blow that handicap away).

The Bush Junta has come close to destroying this country. These are not normal times. We need a VERY grounded person to steady the nation, and do what is necessary to restore basic constitutional government and to address truly critical problems--the disaster that the Bush Junta has made in the Middle East, a $10 trillion deficit, economic recovery from almost a decade of outsourcing of jobs and manufacturing capability, and of thievery by the rich (since Reagan, actually), skyrocketing medical, education and other costs, destruction of the middle class, gulf between rich and poor, global warming (an in-progress disaster) and more--enough crises for ten presidents.

Can Hillary's dour little face and pasted on smile rally the nation--especially with her slippery record on the war and on corporate rule? Can Clark's military experience--and brilliant analysis of the Iraq disaster--translate into sufficient civilian executive savvy for all these crises? Is Obama savvy enough, and experienced enough, to jump from the Senate to the White House in one term? (JFK did it--but he was a 2-term Senator, and those were different times--we had had a very reliable Ike for eight years--JFK was not preceded by the Bush calamity.) Edwards--a lot of good qualities and policies, but still, NO executive experience, and not all that magnetic. Kucinich--sadly, he just does not project strength on TV--a really good man, but lacks the personality to heal and inspire.

Gore has...

--he won in 2000!
--8 years of experience in the executive branch
--many years in the Senate
--knows both branches of government really well
--has stayed out of politics to re-think things--very important
--knows how to turn the grave crisis of global warming into a positive--an economic boon
--has turned into a fantastic speaker--his speeches over the last few years have been amazing!
--has thoroughly analyzed the fundamental errors and crimes of the Bush regime
--complete self-confidence in public--good projection
--came out early and hard against the war--brilliant analysis
--strongly committed to constitutional principles
--strong personality--very well grounded
--everybody knows him--the country badly needs familiarity and trustworthiness.

negatives: NAFTA (don't know his position on it these days--hasn't said anything)
"An Inconvenient Truth" was pretty soft on the bad actors (oil/energy giants) (--but he has hit back hard against global warming liars, and as President would need to work with these bad actors, if the damage to our climate is to be quickly reversed).

I think we need to draft Gore.

I used to think we needed to also draft Kerry as his running mate--for a full "restoration" of the two men that the American people actually voted for--but Kerry has tripped over himself one too many times--granted, with a hostile media, but if he can't outmaneuver those jerks by now, he could be a liability--better to go with someone fresh; maybe Clark (put him in charge of the Middle East!).

They could have voted for Al Gore and John Kerry.

What does that tell you about their ability to recognize quality candidates like Kucinich, Edwards, Obama, and Clinton?
