So Who Was A Black Friday Whore.....

......Today...

............I was only because I start a new job on Monday and needed some new clothes to start with(first impressions)....IMO the stores put out their leftover CRAP for sale and are holding the good stuff in the back for after the weekend and it seems again the prices were over inflated then cut back to regular prices to give the illusion......I expected that.

1. We went out this morning
Sorry if that makes us enemies of the people and all, but we went shopping.

18. Ooh Me Me!
My best friend and have birthdays Nov 18 and 19, and retail therapy is # 1 for both of us, so a shopping day is our present to each other. Hey, we don't do drugs, gamble or contribute to the republican party.
So there.

12. some people REALLY do enjoy that!
I have no clue why, though!111!!11 seriesly!11!!

our son in law's mother and sister do it, as a family tradition--even the son-in law went with them some years---

here's the drill---Thanksgiving dinner at their house, hurry up and eat and hurry up and clean up---and GET OUT THE ADS!1111!!----plan for their shopping day--this year starting at 4 am.....

NOTHING is that important to me! ;>) but, ya know--to repeat--some people DO like it!

:freak:

21. I am normally a very antisocial person
But once a year, I get a kick out of being in a mass of humanity. and it's still a low-connection event. Very impersonal, enough for me to avoid real human contact (something I generally loathe).

So as long as my wife and I get a parking space in less than an hour, I'm generally happy to do it.

If people want to spend money on Christmas, I think that is ok. I don't think we will win people over by denying them one of the few joys they have in life. I think we better learn to educate without judging.

9. I am a post Christmas whore.
Everyone in my family gets a crisp 20 for Christmas. I tell them to go to the mall or a store and get what they want.

And no, none of you mooches are allowed to be adopted into my family.
B-)

10. My wife. A good liberal, until this time of year
Buys way too much food, and shops till she drops early on "Black Friday." Buys way too many gifts for my kids that they may only play with once or twice. She really goes overboard. I can't talk to her about this, however. She really gets a kick out of this. It wears me out, however.

13. Sounds like a worthy enough goal.
I live in a casino-economy based area of the world - and this seems like a very mild character flaw.

If it is even a flaw.

14. First time in a long time but...
I needed an emergency boost starter and they had them for 1/3 of the lowest sale price I had seen the last month :bounce: and then they had the Hickory Farms my Aunt always gives out for $5 less than the lowest price I saw last year so I got that for her at the same store. It costs $45 to get a jump start each time and when the temperature drops below zero :scared: sometimes the battery needs a little help.

Guess I will have to spend some time in DU pergatory, huh?

19. Bought puppy pads at PetSmart
My 21-year-old daughter is trying to housebreak her new puppy and not doing that well. Also got her a DVD on housetraining dogs. This was not X-mess shopping, but more or less an emergency. It has been a messy Thanksgiving break.

28. I was---

-Work tops for $6.00
-Work pants for $15.00

and lots of other good deals
( presents)
under $20.00

-free breakfast at IKEA

with a limited income, this
was within my budget.

I didn't hit ONE crazy mall,
though. I shopped within my city.

29. I went shopping today...
to buy a hair dryer. Mine died yesterday. I was dreading going into Target to fight the Black Friday crowds just to get a blow drier. Then I remembered that CVS sells them, too. CVS was practically empty. I was in and out of there in 10 minutes.

I also went to the Amish Market, but they're normally open on Friday and were having a very slow day. And I put a deposit down on our new front door at Lowe's but we'd already picked it out. So, yeah, I did technically go "shopping" today.

34. My kid needed a coat and some pants.
His winter coat zipper broke, and it's getting pretty cold. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

But I avoided the crowds, hit two places, made it home in less than an hour... Not too bad!

Some of the same "black Friday" deals were available online, plus I scored free shipping on a couple of items. I have people to buy for and if I can get a deal, I'm going for it, critics be damned.
