My WalMart Doesn't Carry The Books or Videos of Progressive Dems |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 06:55 PM by Mike03
Should I complain? It's really really beginning to PISS me off.
The week that Reagan's diaries came out, Al Gore's book came out. Gore's book was the bigger seller, but my Wal Mart only carried Reagan's book, not Gore's.
Today, I went there to buy my own copy of SICKO, and they were not carrying that.
My WalMart didn't carry Hillary Clinton's biography when it came out several years ago. It didn't carry Al Franken's books, but it carried Ann Coulter's and Bill O'Reilly's.
I'm not much of an activist, but I am getting furious... Do I have a right to be upset?
Are your WalMarts like mine? Or is mine just a freak franchise?

1. Yes, you should say something. Ask if they will order things in or something. |
|
Stores need to know if they are not serving their customers well. (Although getting this accomplished with big box chains is a lot harder than with Mom and Pops, I am sure.)

3. Why are you even stepping foot in that hell-hole? |
|
You shouldn't even be shopping there. They don't carry what you want because they practice a form of censorship and "nanny commerce." They don't carry what you want, they carry what they think is appropriate for you to have. They are the WORST type of retailer, they hurt our country, and you should never spend a dime with them.

7. Atman, I love your posts, but please, give me a break |
|
I live out in the middle of nowhere. WM has run our local stores out of business. There are NO bookstores in my town.
I am all for your enthusiasm, but it's so depressing when people are so self righteous. If I still lived in Los Angeles I would be totally with you. But I live in the fucking desert now.

Of course, Atman is smart enough to figure that out.
Do you think I would be wasting bandwidth writing about this problem if It was not a problem to me?
It's quite sad. DU used to be where the smart ones came; more and more we are having retarded people.

"WM has run our local stores out of business." So you give them your money???? I'm not being self righteous. You have a computer, obviously...order online from other independents. Spare me the barbs...I'm not being 'self-righteous.' I've seen WM decimate so many small towns, and there ARE option available to you other than helping to prop up their take-over of every business on earth. Hell, I just got back from Florida and was horrified to see something I hadn't even realized WM was doing..."Wal Mart Neighborhood Markets." Yup. Little Wal Marts disguised as old-fashioned neighborhood stores. The fuckers won't be content until they've put every single retailer in America out of business, and the only their business plan will work is if people keep saying "Oh, but I don't have a choice." YOU DO! Don't spend your money there. There ARE alternatives. Really. There are.

12. I bought Clinton's book plus 2 of Mike Moore's DVDs at the local one. |
|
And yes I do shop there because the next closest store is an 80 mile round trip. But if you buy my gas, I will gladly make the drive.

5. I'm not surprised wal mart doesn't carry that stuff |
|
I'd say something and request to order them .
However I wouldn't buy movies there like I don't rent 'em from Blockbuster . Because they carry edited versions of films . Blockbuster says it's their company values.

15. Besides, this post is not about what I can get or not get. |
|
I can get any book I want. But the people in this town have no clue about what is on the NYT bestseller list or not. The radio here is pathetic; they don't believe in global warming. It's for them, not for me.
Yet, it's a total insult to not be able to get Al Gore's book here in my small town, when I can get books by Reagan's editor, Coulter or O'Reilly.
