Had anyone floated a proposal to repeal our presidential term limits (aka the 22nd Amendment), opponents would be cremated by the media for being anti-democracy. :eyes:

Believe me, I'm no fan of Chavez, but can we at least stick to the truth? Is that even possible anymore in the corporate media?

2. But whenever that proposal has been floated
For instance Reagan was for getting rid of the 22nd amendment, he always made it clear the new amendment would not apply to whoever the current president was when it passed.

I think if Chavez made clear the new amendments wouldn't apply to himself, there would be much less criticism of it.

He seems to actually support democracy, unlike other South American tin-pots. That alone means the United States must oppose him.
