What a great damn field!
Edited on Sat Dec-01-07 07:21 PM by BelgianMadCow
Watching all Hissypit's posts of some of the presidential candidates from the DNC meeting in the Political Videos Forum, the following three came ALL across great. I found

- that Edwards has charisma, and that the issue of equality (and hence, poverty) matters to him. I remember thinking the same in 2004 when he ran as VP. His discourse on "bringing down the wall around Washington that keeps the people out" is very convincing. Particularly his stance against Big Pharma, Big Oil and the likes I'd hope he follows through on. I'd label him PROGRESSIVE.

- that Kucinich speaks with conviction, and is simply right (apart from being a bit too left of the current political "center") on the issues, such as health care, the War and Impeachment (and right the first time too). He is what I would call a socialist as in: representing the working class foundation of society. Only point is, the bottom is so shock doctrined that they do not know what is right for them. I'd label him RIGHT.

- that Biden has the best sense of humour, oozes leadership, seems like a possible uniter and has the X-factor or the gravitas if you will of a President. His experience in foreign policy is a crucial plus imho. I'd peg him as ELECTABLE.

I did not see other clips of other candidates, I also confess this is my top three (in no particular order) :-)

1. If you need a little help in determining the order for your top three,

I'd like to suggest alphabetical. :7

EDIT -- But seriously, folks -- I think your comments on these three is right-on.

5. alphabetical and ordered from bronze to gold
or something. No really, Biden has some spell over me. I'd want Kucinich for his positions, Biden for his electability and Edwards for progressive compromise.

Go figure!

2. How I'd grade them on Social, Economic, and Foregn Policy ...
Edwards - Foreign Policy: A-, Social: C+, Economic: B+
Kucinich - Foreign Policy: A-, Social: A, Economic: A-
Biden - Foreign Policy: A, Social: C-, Economic: B-

8. I can relate to that rating
except Edwards struck me as more social. I do confess not knowing about him in depth.

3. It'd be nice to get back to "left of the current political center"
Both the Dems and the Repugs have been RIGHT of that center for going on a couple of decades...and inching inexorably further to the right with each election.

Kucinich for me.

6. I totally agree
your center is our right...

And I think Kucinich would be the strongest tugboat too. I just don't think America is ready, the tugboat needs a line to the tanker.

Gore-Kucinich '12 :P

9. It is a great damned field.
The Pukes must know that they're about to be stuffed into a wood chipper by the 2008 elections.

10. wood chipper lol
And I think so too. I just hope the elections are fair. UN monitors should be there, led by Carter.

11. Carter would be just the man for that job.
Some hard grassroots work lies ahead, but the current trends are looking very encouraging.

12. Seriously--there are three running so close for me I may not decide before our primary day.
Four are absolutely out but I wouldn't need to take a sachet into the booth with me for any of the rest.
