"Democrats lose..." "Democrats defeated...", Not exactly... |
|
What CNN, MSNBC, and our favorite FOX don't point out that it's the troops, their families, the American Nation and its People, the Iraqi man/woman-in-the-street, and many millions of others who are "losing" and are "defeated".
This is to be equated with Britney Spears "losing" her hair (and by extension, her mind), or Anna Nicole Smith "losing" her life. These stories blend seamlessly in the 24 hour 'news' cycle-of-life.
To paraphrase Holden Caulfield, life is a game(with winners and losers) when you're on the side with all the hot-shots. When you're on the other side, it's no game. It's certainly no game for these 'folks' involved in this nigtmare.

1. Does anyone still doubt the corporate control of our media? |

We knew we wouldn't get 60 votes. We got what we wanted. Every Publican Senator who is running for reelection in 2008 is going to answer for the way they voted.

The Republic's are much better at the 'expectation "game"' than our guys are. They'd have been on TV downplaying the vote for days beforehand, and would have made the 56 votes look llike a big 'win'.

3. First of all this is a debate in progress. Its not over yet. To attempt to label this |
|
as a loss and defeat for anyone is to completely misunderstand how the political process in our country works. If the democrats eventually get 60 votes does that mean the republicans will have lost? In my opinion no. They will have had a chance to put on the record their point of view. I may not agree with their positions, speeches and misdirection, but I have completely had enough of the one sided debates like we have had the last 6 years. Marching is lockstep is a loss.

5. No ratings in a 15 round fight... |
|
they like 'one punch and you're out' stuff...
Problem is, Dems never win', they 'advance', they 'progress', but you rarely see the word 'win' next to a Dem victory. Even in the election, the Webb 'Squeaker' 'gave them' the Senate. And then we saw how they had Sen Johnson in a coffin in 5 minutes w/o even knowing what was wrong with him.

is the headline I noticed. How about Republicans obstructed? You're right. The losers are our troops and the Iraqi people.
