Glenn Beck must be competing for the biggest idiot pundit award |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-03-07 03:58 PM by ProSense
In an interview with the Deseret Morning News, right-wing pundit Glenn Beck described a recent meeting with President Bush which left him “ stunned and awestruck by Bush’s command of the situation”: <...>
“He is clear and focused, and there are no hems and haws. I would not want to sit across the table from him as an enemy. He said a few things that were breathtaking, and my immediate response was, ‘Why are you not saying this?’ and he explained. I can’t quote him. All I can say is that he has Abraham Lincoln-honorable reasons … he has chosen not to say certain things. But (the Iraq war) is going much better than people think.” moreBush lies: Despite Knowledge That Iran Halted Nuke Program, White House Continued To Warn Of False ThreatWhat does this say about Beck (and CNN): Corker ‘underwhelmed’ by Bush’s knowledge of Iraq.

1. excuse me while I throw up |

I've studied Abraham Lincoln's life for 51 years. Bush is in no way anything like Lincoln, and to say so shows extreme ignorance.

3. Well, Lincoln did try to suspend habeas corpus |
|
The only difference is that he didn't get away with it, and this piece of shit in the White House has, so far.
I'd say that and party name are about the only things the two men have in common.

7. only difference in the habeas corpus deal |
|
was that, in Lincoln's case, if he hadn't, there was a distinct possibility Maryland would have seceded and that the Confederates would have done their best to take over Washington DC and kill Lincoln on the spot. They weren't letting troops through Baltimore, that's for sure. So I think, though it too was unjustified, Lincoln had slightly more reason to suspend the writ than Bush does. Plus Lincoln did not do it to amass power to himself.
