Karl Rove in my town last night and gets smacked around but good.
Verbally, anyway. Poor Turdblossom. Not.

Rove's critics let loose with loud, colorful protests

DURHAM -- Karl Rove encountered hecklers and protesters at Duke University Monday night, some accusing him of being a fraud, a traitor and even a killer.

President Bush's former White House deputy chief of staff and senior adviser appeared in Page Auditorium for a "conversation" with Duke political science professor Peter Feaver.

But the situation intensified when the floor was opened to questions.

The first questioner, a woman, set the tone by sarcastically telling Rove, "Thank you for spinning such a fictional narrative" in his talk. Rove foes applauded and cheered.

The questioner then zeroed in on accusations that Rove "outed" then-CIA operative Valerie Plame in 2003 in retaliation for The New York Times op-ed article by her husband, Iraq war critic Joe Wilson.

Given that Bush had said he would not tolerate leaks, the questioner asked, "When does your trial for treason start?" to a thunderous roar.

Rove, in responding to the "treason" accusation, said, "I don't mind being slandered" and praised Bush as a friend and supporter.

"You're a murderer!" another opponent shouted at Rove.

Blue city, however. But still . . . the larger cities tend to be blue in the red states. This says to me he can't go anywhere much without meeting the angry citizenry of this country.

I hope this public outrage hounds him EVERYWHERE he goes for as long as he draws breath.

I wish him no peace. NO PEACE. BASTARD. And yes, he IS a traitor and a murderer. And a liar and a cheat. No slander, kkkarl, when it's the TRUTH. No wonder he couldn't recognize it, though. He wouldn't know truth if it flopped him on his stomach and gave him an enema.

BTW - did anyone see the "Worst Person in the World" segment on Olbermann - featuring Torture Boy? alberto gonzales had a speaking engagement scrubbed at some college, for which he wanted 35-THOUSAND dollars. It was canceled for lack of interest - evidently NO students had expressed an interest in going to hear him (and certainly paying for the "privilege"). I hope he, too, is hounded for the rest of his miserable, lying, cheating, conniving life.

Thank you, Lex, for posting this!!!

Edited on Tue Dec-04-07 08:44 PM by Blue Fire
"They said disruptions would not be tolerated, and I think this is a real failure on the administration's part," said junior Sam Tasher, chair of Duke College Republicans.

What a whiny-ass little twerp. The administration's real failure was to allow the Grand Poopah of Turdism on campus. At least they didn't pull the dumya 'invitation only' schtick to keep those nasty protesters from 'disrupting' the proceedings with such well-deserved and factual accusations.

Major Speakers Director Isel Del Valle, a senior, said despite the interruptions, she considered the evening a success.
"I personally would've preferred it to be less people protesting just because he's a professional and when you go toe-to-toe with him, he's going to win," she said

Yeah. A professional traitor. And truth, liberty, as well as the U.S. Constitution are the real losers. So far.

60. This article actually made me buy the Herald-Sun today
Something I almost never do, if only because I hate to think my money goes to them to pay Krauthammer, Will and the other theologically-correct shills that appear on their editorial pages.

Just read the Chronicle article, noticed that they mentioned that it was a "sold-out auditorium of students, faculty, staff and Durham residents." How can it be sold out if tickets were free? What morans they have running the Duke paper. Awesome comma splices, too.

What is really striking is that neither article really addressed anything that Rove said that might ever be worth 45k. What inside scoop? Where's the substance? Though it may be the fault of the fact that the "reporters" in question were shocked that there were protesters (news flash--the real news from now on is when Rove appears and there are not protests), didn't anybody say anything, other than trivialities such as the fact that Bush evidently stores his booze in a hollow book?

73. Tar and Feathers are a nice base
But don't forget the incredible, inedible Rotten Eggs.
The unique fragrance of that preparation will bind with the tar.
And the tar will bind with the turn blossom.
Magnfique!

as well as gonzo's appearance (for $35,000) canceled when NO tickets were sold, I'd say these traitorous rat bastard's are getting exactly what they deserve. I hope they are driven back to the cave they came from in Texas. There should be plenty of kool-aid drinkers around Crawford who will hide them.

from los angeles. got here 10-3-07; got a job after a month. had a flat on sunday and no less than 5 good people stopped to help me out. i had heard NC was a red state. this makes me feel so good. NC is a blue state too; plus it is full of good people, and it is not even impossible to make a decent living.

he doesn't mind being slandered? there ya go. lies are truth, and the truth is slander. the man is twisted.

are there pictures? video? i'd love to have been there adding my voice to reason, humanity, and the american way.

was he paid to be there? how much of the audience appeared to believe anything he said, or respect him at all?

it reminds me of nixon after watergate. until he finally died i found myself incredulous and pissed every time i saw him being treated as somebody who deserved respect or an audience. it frustrated me, and so does this shit frustrate me. he is so marginally human, so bereft of humanity. yuck!

edited for 2 important letters

...how would one go about filling a water balloon with urine?

Smelly cat urine all over Rove's suit.

Nah, I guess that's too violent.

Nice to picture it, though.....

If you want to see the little Turds (Turdlettes?) that sponsored the big Turd, check this out. What a lame web site. This is so fucking pathetic.

85. Duke University of Crooks

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Duke_University_people

Alums include Richard Nixon, David Addington (Cheney's Brain), John Hannah (Cheney's leak helper), Elizabeth Dole. From Wikipedia on John Hannah:

Hannah is believed to be a subject of the Valerie Plame investigation. On February 11, Hannah was sourced by the Washington Post as having said "during a recent meeting that the administration considers 2007 'the year of Iran'" and indicating "that a U.S. attack was a real possibility." <1>
