Okay. My head is exploding.
Pat Buchannon is on CNN. He's flippin' out over the NIE and bitchin' about how the administration was talkin' WWIII based on a lie and how incredibly stupid it is the Republican presidential candidates have suggested dropping atomic bombs on Iran.

I've never thought of PB as someone I could associate with,...and he's sittin' there as outraged as I am over the same damn thing.

Kinda' freaks me out.

:freak:

Forces me to realize, no matter how much I may disagree with certain folks, no matter irreconciable personality conflicts, there are certain matter on which, I reckon, we can ALWAYS agree.

:wow:

4. Stopped Clocks...
Buchanan is crazy, a xenophobe and a crazy xenophobe, but he's not completely stupid, except for being a crazy right-wing xenophobe.

5. Always consider the source of anything you hear or read but...
Buchanan's magazine AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE has presented great anti-Bushista analysis by people like Andrew Bacevich & Philip Giraldi for awhile now.

Real paleo-cons are NOT neo-cons.

7. I like most of its articles and the book and general cultural
reviews. It's what we should be reading elsewhere too but can't because of general dumbing down. On the other hand I have never been too fond of the National Review because it seems rather neoconite.

10. Buchanan is not a neocon, I think he's an honest conservative
I disagree with most every thing he says, but real conservatives and real progressives do agree on many things related to the Constitution and the rule of law.

Every American who believes in the Constitution oughtta be 'flippin out' over GWB's horrible press conference today.

The guy needs to be removed from office. He is incompetent at best. I suspect the worst.

I applaud Buchanan in this instance for saying what he's saying.

17. Honest racist conservative.
There's conservatives who aren't racist. Buchanan, sadly, is not one of them. But at least, yes, he's against killing millions of people when there's no point in doing so.

I suppose I applaud the progress he's made...

11. He will now say one reasonable thing for every 10 batshit crazy comments
He's funny now - sometimes I think he has a formula in his head for when to turn on the hate spewing. He'll seem all reasonable for a few, then the RW talking points start flowing :D

That's kind of a lowest common denominator, isn't it?
