Is, in your opinion, one worse than the other. Of couse, Bush's big lies involved lots of lives while Nixon's were mainly political.

Your thoughts.

1. Nixon knew he was lying.
Bush has no idea what he's saying. Sans teleprompter, he's mute.

9. Technically, he didn't. He fell on his sword shortly before the hearings would have begun. NT

13. The articles had been drawn and filed He just "plead" no contest
Your argument might be made that he was not convicted but neither was anyone who coped a plea.

What does "political" mean to you? You think something "political" doesn't involve "lots of lives"? Good freaking grief.

7. Nixon had redeeming qualities.
The EPA, China, and the ability to realize when he'd fucked things up too much to stay in the job.

10. Nixon, at least, had some shame.....
When it became clear that he was about to be impeached, he did not want that to be his legacy. Rather than face the shame of being one of the few impeached Presidents (at the time), he chose to leave voluntarily.

Bush doesn't have enough sense to be ashamed about anything!! And to me, that's the main difference between them.......

12. Nixon was intelligent. The EPA is a legacy. Bush is a madman.
I hold no warm feelings for Richard Nixon. He prolonged the war, tried to subvert the Constitution, and was a petty, vindictive man who did more harm than good.

But George W. Bush is not just the worst president in American history, he is a clear and present danger to American history - and the world. I really think we have not yet plumbed the depths of just how bad this man is, and just how venal are those surrounding him. Sure, we despise him, but his danger goes far beyond that.

In 2008, he will show his madness to the world in some unmistakable way. Bet the farm on it.

15. All pol;iticians lie sometimes. Shrub lies even when he doesn't have to!
This is what amazed me ever since this nitwit began running for Prez. He lies about EVERYTHING! Even when the truth would mean absolutely nothing bad for him. It appears to be some kind of compulsive disorder. Shrub & Cheney both do the same lying thing, and I believe it has to be a mental disorder of some kind.

18. How many people did they kill?
For Nixon’s presidency, 1969-1974, the official Vietnam war total is 21,041.

For Vietnamese deaths, the total for the war as more than 3 million.

If half of the total casualties in Vietnam occurred after Nixon took office,

the toll under Nixon was about 1.5 million Vietnamese deaths.

For Bush’s presidency, American deaths in Iraq (as of Dec. 6th, 2007) total 3886.

For Iraqi deaths, 650,000 (Lancet Repot)

It took eight years to kill a million Vietnamese, while it’s taken only three years

for 650,000 people to be killed in Iraq. And the rate there has been accelerating:

In 2004 the total was only 100,000. At that rate—assuming a total now of somewhat

more than 650,000— the death toll for Iraqis could top the death toll for Vietnamese

by the end of next year. The Iraqi death toll could top the figure for all of Southeast

Asia by the time Bush leaves office in January 2009. Then there will be no more debate.

Then historians will agree that, even under this most elemental measure,

Bush is the worst president in U.S. history.

19. Nixon was crooked, elitist, and vengeful, but I think not entirely...
...without conscience as Chimpy seems to be. Also, unlike Chimpy, Nixon was highly intelligent, self made, and understood both Washington and international politics.

Nixon had an awareness of his criminality, I'm not so sure Chimpy does. Two very different men in very different times.

As to which is worse, who knows. What would've become of our nation during the Nixon years without real investigative journalists in MSM (one of which was Dan Rather) who can say?
