Drudge headline falsely asserted, "Edwards Slams Oprah"

Summary: Using the headlines "Edwards Slams Oprah" and later "Edwards Slams Talk Queen," the Drudge Report linked to a post on The New York Times' political blog. However, while the post quoted a supporter of former Sen. John Edwards "express{ing} dissatisfaction" with Oprah Winfrey, a spokeswoman for the Edwards campaign stated that the supporter was "speaking only for herself." Further, the post did not include a single quote from Edwards discussing Winfrey or her tour on behalf of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

1. Watching Wolves in Sheep's Clothing Fight
Is so much fun. I'm going to miss the fighting and bickering between Edwards, Obama, and Hillary after the primaries are over.

There's really not a dime's worth of difference between either of them so when it comes to the issues, who cares? I'm flipping a three-sided coin and voting for whose head comes up. ;-)

2. I have to disagree...
... there's very little difference between Obama and HRC, that I'll grant you but Edwards is different.

3. How is he different?
When he wears sheep's clothing he unlike the other two puts the sheep's head on? I mean what difference are we talking about here?

4. He doesn't pander to the .
.... center-right in a cheap attempt to get votes, for starters.

He is the only one that has called for an end to NAFTA.

His economics platform is in general more favorable to working people.

7. He's no Kuchinich..
... but Dennis isn't ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever going to have even a shot at being president of this country.

And if you don't know why already, it won't do me any good to tell you.

11. I know why
It's because people like you are afraid to vote for him.

And because of that, the powers that be smoke their cigars with the Religious Right, the House of Saud, and the movers and shakers on Wall Street while smirking and laughing gleefully.

13. I'm not afraid of anything.
... but wasting my vote. K doesn't have the qualities that get people elected president in the Television age. He's never going to be a contender, period.

One might as well vote for a third party candidate.

15. If you don't vote your heart, your heart will never win.
I'm definitely not going to line up behind a Democratic candidate like Obama, Clinton, or Edwards.

This isn't about getting a Democrat elected instead of a Republican because the parties are virtually the same now. Okay so the Democrats might follow the rule of law and hold more oversight hearings than Republicans. But that's about it. We can't even get one Democrat other than Kucinich to say single-payer.

This is about the future of America. The future of generations...my generation...and generations to come. For the future, I am voting Kucinich.

Electability is for faithless people who cow to the powers that be. I do not subscribe to electability.

12. The Edwards "quote" from WaPo
snipped from: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2007/12/08/edwards_condemns_nafta.html

Asked about the absence of any A-list celebrities at his side this weekend, Edwards noted that he's had some boldface names with him during the campaign, including Bonnie Raitt. "Most people vote on the basis of candidates themselves," he said. "I don't think that is a crtical part of what's happening. People take this very seriously. I don't think they decide who to vote for based on what movie star is for you." But asked whether Obama's events with Oprah amounted to a "stunt," Edwards demurred. "Any presidential candidate has the right to bring somebody out who's supporting them to try to help attract a crowd," he said.

...doesn't sound like a slam to me
