If Someone Had To Make $10,000 Fast For Emergency-- Dem v. Repub
If someone had an emergency arise and had to make $10,000 or more fast, what would you suggest to them?

Would the solutions offered by Dems v. Repubs be different?

This question came up some time back when a local citizen needed an expensive medical treatment, but had no major medical insurance. The treating physician and Hospital required payment in advance, and time was of the essence, since the longer the delay the more likely the procedure would be ineffective.

I will tell you in that particular situation the community held barbeque suppers, bake sales, and numerous other fundraisers to help out.

Just wondering if the solution to this problem would be affected by the political philosophy of the individual trying to help an individual in this situation. What if you were the individual in that situation? (Most people do not realize that their major medical policy has a lifetime cap that can be exceeded).

1. Dem solution:
Collective effort: bake sales, little contribution jars in restaurants, etc. Everybody helps out to the extent they can.

Republic solution:
1) Inform the victim they should examine their conscience to see what they did to draw God's wrath.
2) Lecture victim on how they should have been putting money away in a medical savings account
3) Email a distorted version of victim's story around as an object lesson on the evils of liberalism

2. you forgot the biggie of repug solutions...
Tax Cuts. so that you have more money available to purchase insurance.

bummer about that pre-existing condition...don't worry though- in 18 months it should be covered.

3. How would the Dems and Repubs differ in advice on 'making' that money?
I probably picked a bad example dealing with a health crisis.

What if you needed to 'make' that money to hold onto your home? etc.
