1. My candidate(s)
I have preferences and I have one in particular whom I think is most like me in his beliefs but I'm a realist and figure he'll not make it. I am happy with most of the candidates that do have a chance and I'll gladly support them when the time comes.

The biggest reason not to say who - is to keep the flaming aimed at the republicans, not me. :hi:

2. Yes, I'd be happy to disclose that
to anyone who asks.

Why not?

4. I don't know....maybe because a person is embarrassed
about someone they're supporting.

For instance, someone who quietly supports Hillary and hates Obama, yet is a good friend with an Obama supporter, may not want to tell that person. And vice versa.

Same thing when it comes to Kucinich. There are plenty of people who say they would vote for him if he had a chance, and are therefore supporting another candidate.

Maybe one of their Kucinich friends would be disappointed and lose respect for not standing by DK through thick and thin.

There are lots of reasons, which is why politics is included with religion as one of the things people avoid talking about...even though I understand that's kinda the point of this web site.

5. Plenty to be embarrassed about ...
All the candidates have their faults, imho. Even my favorite (who doesn't have a prayer). Even the one I'm planning to vote for (because he/she does have a prayer).

But this is all academic. I'm from Michigan, so my primary vote doesn't count.

6. While I've had a hard time choosing because
I expected more currently out of our reps in congress and have been under stress emotionally and intellectually over it, I've finally narrowed it down to two, Kucinich and Edwards. Kucinich because he has tried to defend the constitution and the rule of law as well as his stands on the issues which I agree the most with. Edwards because out of the top three running, he knows the problem is exactly related to the corporations hijacking this country and the other battles can't be won without winning the battle against their undue influence.

8. I've also narrowed my choices down to DK and Edwards.
I think what happens in Iowa, NH and SC will dictate where my vote is needed most, considering my state of California is part of Tsunami Tuesday on February 5.

12. I too am waiting.
My time to vote however comes after the Tsunami and so much will have already been determined. I sometimes question the value of my vote. Best of luck.

7. Beings as we have such a loaded field to pick from I'll say not sure yet
but I will say I will gladly vote for any one of the Democratic Candidates in the general though. I am not a single or couple three issues voter, I realize no one is going to be just like me so I have to take them as a whole or leave them as a whole. I could and would embrase any one of our candidates. I do have preferences at this point but who it is today may not be who it is tomorrow as I've changed my mind three time now since I've been here these two and a half almost years. I am always a Democratic Party voter though, they and I share values.

9. When I decide, DU will be the 2nd to know! Why would anyone NOT want to say who they support?
I dunno.....it seems to me DUers are PROUD of their candidates and want to talk about them. Isn't that 1 reason we're all here?

10. Well look at how ugly things are between the Obama and
Clinton camps.

I could see some DUers not wanting to indirectly get involved with that, for a number of reasons...not the least of which is disappointing/offending/hurting the feelings, etc. of their DU buddies who support the other candidate that they loathe.

That's what I'm curious about.

11. Still an Edwards supporter and he will get my vote in our primary
however, come general election my vote will go to the Democrat. I keep telling everyone, our worst possible nominee, whomever that could be, is 10 times better than the best thing the other side has to offer.

recent Texas Democrat epoll, still shows Edwards the favorite among those voting. I think he may carry our primary, even though it falls late enough to not make a difference..time will tell.

19. Kucinich for his courage to stand up and call for real
accountability, our Constitution, single-payer health care and his record of getting it right when it counts instead of years later.

Just posted this...and we probably would not have Alito and Roberts now if the crimes of Reagan & Bush Sr. had been exposed. I do not want to be doing this again in 15 or 20 years.

Imagine the direction our country may have taken if citizens had demanded Reagan and Bush be held accountable for their actions.

:( :(

Rep. Henry Gonzalez, impeachment of Reagan and Bush in 1987

"...Another war-related impeachment effort came in response to the Iran-Contra scandal. You wouldn't have known it from media coverage or congressional debate, but the Reagan administration's Iran-Contra maneuvers were part of a Washington-driven war that enabled the U.S.-backed Contra guerrillas to terrorize Nicaraguan civilians, killing thousands in the process. When Rep. Henry Gonzalez, a Democrat from Texas, pushed for impeachment of President Reagan (and, for good measure, Vice President George H. W. Bush) in 1987, he stood virtually alone on Capitol Hill..."

To be honest, while I'll vote for whoever our nominee eventually is, none of them particularly thrill me. I like Kucinich, but I also realize that he really doesn't stand a chance of being nominated.

Of course, it's kind of a pointless endeavor on my part. The media has long since decided that it'll come down to Clinton and Obama on our side, with Huckabee and Mittens on the other. The MSM has been pushing Huckabee hard lately. It's difficult for me to not already think 'well, there's our next president, the fix is in.'

They are all talented people. Some I agree with more than others. But any of them would be a damn site better than what we have now. Edit: the reason I don't engage in the candidate wars is that there isn't anyone that I actively hate. We don't have a stealth Huckabee so there are better things I can spend my energy on.

Unofficially, I have narrowed it down to two people. Will name my choice when I have decided.
