What is up with these mean spirited Hillary Supporters? ( Joe Wilson)
Pivoting off a Thursday article in the London Times, Wilson argues that Obama's "intuitive grasp" of the world is no match for his lack of travel and "dearth" of international experience.

"Intuition may be a laudable quality among psychics and palm readers," the Ambassador writes, "but for a professional American diplomat like myself, who have spent a career toiling in the vineyards of national security, it has no relevance to serious discussion of foreign policy. In fact, Obama's supposed "intuitive sense" is no different from George W. Bush's 'instincts' and 'gut feeling' describing his own foreign policy decision-making. We have been down this road before."

-snip (STEVE CLEMONS FROM WASHINGTON NOTE COMMENTS ON THEIR EXPERIENCE DIFFERENCES)

In the end, the travel and foreign policy records of Clinton and Obama may prove over-scrutinized. As Clemons notes, the differences between the Democrats pale in comparison to those that exist between Democrats and Republicans.

"Hillary is on Armed Service Committee and has traveled all over the world," Clemons told the Huffington Post. "Barack has been an attentive member of the Foreign Relations Committee. There are differences between them but they are 10 to 15 percent difference. Whereas, the differences between the Obama or Hillary and Rudy or Huckabee are a 40 to 60 percent difference, just a staggering jump."

I'D SAY THAT JOE WILSON NEEDS TO BE LUMPED IN WITH BOB KERREY AND MARK PENN IN THE MEAN-SPIRITED CATEGORY! PRETTY UNCALLED FOR imho.

3. it`s very simple
hillary has more experience than all the candidates combined. obama is a silly young man that has no experience what so ever to lead this country. edwards and the rest have really no chance to to overcome hillary`s lead across this country.it would be follish for anyone to consider anyone but hillary to lead this nation for the next 8 years.
the problem i have, well if i am granted an opinion,is that i really do`t like where she will lead me but i will have no choice in the matter, i will have to vote for hillary.

8. i've never understood the "hillary has more experience than
god himself" logic. she's been in the senate since 2001. biden? dodd? hell, even kooky kucinich have been in government longer. being someone's wife experience does not make. i mean, imagine if people started saying that about laura.

14. and are we to think being first lady counts as meaninful experience? My husband
is an architect. Since I've been with him for 22 years and share an interest in architecture, I would suspect no one would want me to design a building for them. Just saying....

I agree with you madrchsod, I don't like where she will lead us as well-CORPORATISM.

5. Second coming, my ass.
He told the truth and got beaten for it. But kept doing it.

That doesn't mean he's right.

One person says one thing people don't like and suddenly he's the fucking antichrist.

7. Bill Clinton had little experience in world affairs.
G. W. Bush had even less. No president can begin to have enough knowledge of foreign affairs. It takes a lifetime of work and study to be an expert just on one country or one region of the world. Knowledge or experience in foreign affairs is not the test for a president. What is important is that a president have the wisdom and judgment to choose aides with the knowledge and experience to advise him or her on foreign affairs. A good president is one with the intelligence to evaluate the expert advice that he or she chooses.

9. It's an election season for an open White House.
Wear a helmet. Seriously.

If you find Wilson harsh, you're gonna be stunned in a couple of weeks when the voting starts.

Yeah, it sucks.

Go read what they were saying about Lincoln. It'll curl your toes.

15. Thin Skins In The Silly Season
Yep, Will...the OUTRAGE...Outrage I tell ya...that a surrogate dares to question a candidate and not use please and thank-you in every other sentence. But I think our beloved corporte media helps fuel these silly games as they want a good cat fight...they don't care what, they don't care who...just as long as there's lots of screetching, hair pulling and ratings. Any differences are built into "major controversy" just like how the local news plays up the first snowfall as some major blizzard. And, of course, those who get sucked into this game go along for the roller coaster ride.

Wilson speaks to what many uncommitted people I speak with are concerned about. It's not personalities or race or sex or anything else but finding the most qualified person to come in to clean up the booosh messes. I know I'm not voting for best friend or most popular, I want to see/hear how candidates handle the pressure and who is the best suited to handle the major clean-up job up ahead. Wilson speaks to this...and if this bothers others, then they deserve it.

Cheers and Happy Holidaze...

10. Are you kidding me?
You're now throwing Joe Wilson under the bus just because he said something mean about your candidate? So all the sacrifices this man has made -- talking truth to power -- having his wife outed -- all of that disappears because he talked mean about your candidate? :wtf:

13. Just suggesting to look at who Steve Clemons (10-15% difference) is:
from TWN website:

About Steve and The Washington Note

Greetings, and welcome to my website. During the days, I serve as Senior Fellow & Director, American Strategy Program, New America Foundation and, in my spare time, serve as Director of the Japan Policy Research Institute. I’ve also been encouraged by my great friend, Joshua Micah Marshall of talkingpointsmemo.com to start my own blog. So, connected here you will soon find thewashingtonnote.com, where I will more regularly comment on public policy debates that deserve attention. Until then, enjoy the articles and other items posted here.

Yes, these websites and blogging activities are expensive – and some of you have asked if you can donate. The answer, finally, is SURE. I have posted a link below to handle donations – and you can always purchase your Amazon books through the link below (any books or other items) and Amazon will make a donation to the site.
All the best,
STEVE CLEMONS

IF HE IS SAYING 10-15% DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OBAMA & CLINTON, PERHAPS WILSON HAS A VESTED INTEREST (LIKE A JOB WITHIN A CLINTON WH, AND WE KNOW HE WAS A REPUBLICAN SO HILLARY WOULD BE A BETTER MATCH).

18. That "intuitive grasp" comment from Obama's advisors
was a pretty weak point to make. And Obama does lack the foreign policy experience; he's been a Senator for almost two years? That's not too comforting. Joe Wilson makes a good point, I think.
