Has anyone here ever heard of DOUG ROKKE?
Edited on Sat Dec-22-07 01:23 AM by Diamond Dave
Look him up. Go google him and then decide how you feel about nuclear weapons of mass destruction. I had the pleasure of being with this man for several hours, several years ago (it was not a pleasure, it was a heartbreak). Nothing has changed, it is all worse and getting worse.

No one would listen then and no one is listening still.

I wish for my Christmas, someone will.

On CNN, just the other night they had a soldier with a brain tumor. Dying of cancer, no one asked why. He was a young man.

My heart breaks for what we all have allowed to happen.

And yes, we allowed for this all to happen.

We did.

This country will never get to recover. Sorry to be negative, it just seems like that is the way it is going to be. This destruction has been planned for quite some time.

2. Yep. I have.
Have watched him on video several times.

And it is a heartbreak, and hardly anyone is listening.

What is happening in the middle east is genocide.

6. Here is something from a few months ago.
I really got some people angry with me for posting it. But it is true.

There are several links and a video that is very chilling.

The reality of Depleted Uranium is Real. What is going to happen to our Vets coming home this time we have no idea.

I keep going back to just ask Doug Rokke. He will tell you in no uncertain terms.

If we don't stand up and stop this - well we have nothing left.

And there is nothing left for Iraq. We, the US, we have turned it into a nuclear wasteland.

Weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION. Weapons of Massive Death, Genocide. We, the citizens of the US of A, we did it.

We let it happen, we did not stop this government from letting this happen. Too many involved make excuses for what they are doing.

Will we ever evolve and start to care more? Probably not until it is too late, ie, New Orleans, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan.

We will not spend a dime on seeing satire and "dark humor" with Tom Hanks playing the role of Charlie Wilson.

Honestly what was Hanks thinking?

Is he a tool?

9. Kicking back to the top of DU -- Are we ever going to start to care?
Are we just going to wait until all of of vets come home and then see them on the streets? Come on ......Democratic Underground. This is an issue that we all should be on top of and screaming about.

Please this is just too important. We can't let "agent orange" happen again.

It already has, but at least we can be ready to try to deal with this nightmare that we will never live through.

Are we really going to let it happen again?

Edited on Sat Dec-22-07 06:44 AM by flashl
I distinctly recall blips in the media about soldiers being returned to the states for urgent care with alarming “strange” and undiagnosed illnesses. These were mostly stories from parents pleading for help and answers to explain the horrible deaths they witnessed.

At the same time, there was also GW I soldier stories about their newborns suffering from the effects of their undiagnosed illness. Military hospitals denied the GW I soldiers newborn stories and the mysterious illnesses simply fell off the radar after the name 'Gulf War Syndrome' surfaced.

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

13. I heard him speak about five years ago... and periodically have tried
to look for recent postings by him, to make sure he was okay. He was exposed to DU and was suffering some pretty serious symptoms at the time.

Have you found recent work/writings of his? Is he okay - I have frequently wondered about his health.

His presentation was so powerful, his information so compelling, that I wish/hope a documentary could be made on his work - his message really needs to be widely heard/seen understand.

Why the huge toll from Gulf War I so many years after the fact? DU, of course. Oh, yeah, and don't forget the brilliant decision to destroy chemical munitions IN PLACE. That means the contamination of servicemen and women from the toxins.

The tragic results of Bush policies in the Gulf will continue to unfold multitudes of future tragedies - years after the war ends.
