Strong evidence that the far right is truly genetically different
When viewing the Freedom Toast video "The 12 Debates of Christmas," there was
a link to another "12 days of Christmas" type video that had a bunch of girls
singing about "Liberals" (shocking, I know):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DA-M_OzB6Y&feature=related

Some of the comments said how funny it was. Now I like a good laugh as much as
the next person, but this was so lame that even a Fox propagandist would have
yawned. Also, some of the comments said how "gorgeous" the girls who sang on the
video were. Taking as a given that tastes are different all over, I still say that
these were a bunch of the plainest girls they could have assembled--and completely
devoid of expression or emotion as well. Their enthusiasm and emotion were inferior
to what you might expect from a scallop.

The third, and most damaging piece of evidence was when I saw how many of the supporting
comments from the radical right said how well the girls sang. As a musician, it was
particularly painful for me to listen to the off-key singing. But even if the closest
you have ever come to music was yelling "you deserve a break today" on the way to
your neighborhood McDonald's, it will be pretty clear that even the Whoopi Goldberg
character in "Sister Act" would have given up the fight with this bunch. Stravinsky's
"Rite of Spring" contained less dissonance. If this was "music" to right wing ears,
then we don't share the same DNA.

3. Yes, they did!
I heard that at least ten prisoners at Guantánamo died while being
made to listen to this tape three times in a row without a break.

They obviously kept the weapon for future use while destroying all
evidence of the gruesome effects it has when actually played to
live people.

2. I'd rather listen to 12 cats meow Webern or Schönberg,
one cat per tone row, accompanied by a theremin and a band saw.

10. I missed that one the first time around
"A theramin and a band saw" !!

That's the best line I've heard since my mom read
me the line-up of the Brementown Musicians!

5. That truly was awful
I'm not a musician and it was obvious to me that only one in that group had a voice. The others were awful. I guess they had slim pickings -- not too many young Republicans to choose from.

I think I threw up in my mouth a little.

6. I couldn't listen all the way to the end. Maybe there was some
kind of redeeming grand finale, but I doubt it. And you're right about those comments. They were along the same lines as the performance.

7. Genetic defects; rethugs must be tone deaf, blind and bad song writers.
No wonder most in the entertainment industry are liberals.

in Iraq? Don't they love America? Don't they support the war? Just asking.......

9. Apparently they saw their patriotic duty as singing
Although singing THAT bad falls under the clause of "enemies, domestic"

12. Why, why did I click that link?
Puerile pseudo-critique, miserable production values, pathetic singing. A new textbook definition of lame.

13. Why? I'll tell you why:
Because we are musicians, and as such are always checking if
there is someone out there worse than we are. They were not
only worse musically, but their musicianship approaches that
of the Brementown Musicians. Gratifying to our musician's ego,
even if at the same time torturous to our ears to the point
that the video may be in violation of the Geneva Convention.

14. Well, that makes me feel a little better, I guess
and you're on to something about torture. They could keep a loop of this running in Gitmo and they'd probably get a lot more useful information than they ever have from waterboarding.

16. You may want to delete that lest you give lurking Bushies some ideas
On the other hand--naaaah. They actually LIKED it.

Like I said in the OP--genetically different (genetically flawed?).

17. You don't have to wonder
Just run through the approving comments to the video, and you
will have it straight from the horses' mouths (no disrespect
meant to real horses, who have infinitely more taste).
