1. Is he another typical "moderate" whose "plan" is to assimilate to right wing "values?"
The Establishment prefers this approach for the obvious reasons: right now the people are ready for someone who is all about FUCK THE RIGHT, and clearly establishment thinking can't abide that very well because it hampers efforts of empire. I'm unfamiliar with Thom Hartmann, and I hope his plan for the left isn't the same old weak, tired, rightist-ass-kissing formula that dems have been relying on for the past decades.

2. Not at all.
Thom calls himself the "radical middle" but I'd call him the sane and passionate left. Here's his main page; read and enjoy: http://www.thomhartman.com/
BTW, I was at that event at the Strand; it was a great evening.

3. You can tell you have not listened much to Thom Hartmann
or you would never ask that question. He is a true blue populist and advocates taking back our parties from the neocon crazies. He has written about 11 books, I think. He is no appeaser but he is not advocating armed riots either.

He is what I believe use to be called a moderate but is a flaming liberal by today's standards.
