What enthusiastic support do you see in your area for Presidential candidates? |
|
Signs on cars, yard signs already, painted up cars displaying messages for a candidate, stuff like that.
I see a few Hillary and a few Obama stickers, but the most enthusiastic support I've seen by far is for Ron Paul. I've seen everything I gave as examples for him in particular.
How about you and your area.

3. I haven't seen any except old Bush/Cheney stickers, but I'm going into Raleigh - |

the big city - today, so I'll be looking.
It's been mentioned here that RP signs and stickers are EVERYWHERE. I was looking at some poll or another last night and he has a high number of "definitely will not vote fors". His positives were pretty low, too, but the evidence sure seems to belie the poll results.

4. In no particular order |
|
Obama, Hillary, Paul, McCain, Edwards, and Romney for the most part. A few more Dodd, Biden and Huckabee signs are popping up as well. Virtually no support for Giuliani.

Not really much excitement in general. Probably more signs to replace Hastert.

That's about it.
Most people are too busy just living their lives to bother with politics.

I've seen some Ron Paul posters, but basically it appears your assessment may be correct. A handful of individuals either shunned by, or influenced by M$M, will for the most part decide who will be the two contenders for the most powerful office in the world. A couple of years ago I was oblivious, I only went to vote when the few sheep line up and never really payed attention beyond that.

15. It is the indication of powerlessness felt by most of the electorate. |
|
Most people feel little connection with the people who govern them. Those in D.C. are looked at as some distant power that takes care of government for good or ill.
Unless some policy has a direct effect on their lives, they are willing to confine their responsibilities as the electorate to voting for the most "appealing" candidate or against the least "appealing" candidate.
As Tip O'Neil said, "All politics is local."
Or, as a poli/sci prof told us as we were "disrupting" his class in 1968, "The war will end when enough bodies come home, or the average citizen has to reach for his wallet to pay for it."
