women are chattel in that society.. The fact that Bhutto was an "uppity woman" probably led to her death..

When she was PM, there was an entirely different atmosphere there, and pakistan was more western-looking back then. These days they look inward to Imams & radical Islam..She was most likely perceived as "too western"..
I am frankly surprised she lasted THIS long..:cry:

It would not surprise me if the same people tried to eliminate her sons at her funeral. Blood-feuds & pre-emptive assassination is not uncommon in that part of the world.. She tried to "avenge" her own father's execution and if her sons survive, I would not be surprised to see them attempting the same in a decade or so..
