All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places
Worn out faces

Bright and early for the daily races
Going no where
Going no where

Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression
No expression

Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow
No tomorrow

And I find I kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had

I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very very
Mad world
Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday
Happy birthday

And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen
Sit and listen

Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me
No one new me

Hello teacher tell me what’s my lesson
Look right through me
Look right through me

And I find I kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take

When people run in circles its a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Enlarging your world

Mad world

17. Her murder is the murder of Pakistani nation.
This is terrible, We cannot find words." Such was the reaction of weeping people of Pakistan. After suffering through price hikes, hoarding, emergency, PCO, murder of judiciary and press, plethora of Suicide attacks, they now are witnessing the shocking murder of Benazir Bhutto. Her murder is the murder of Pakistani nation.

Its not about People's Party or Muslim League or whoever else. Its about the humanity. Its about the courage of the lady, who came back to the country from the posh palaces of London and Spain to fight for his countrymen, and she was well received. Though she was accused of deals and dheels, she nonetheless ruled the hearts of millions of people in the country.

President Musharraf has done well to announce nation-wide mourning, he would do more well only now he transfers the power to the representatives of the people.

The terrorists should be dealth with iron hands without mercy.

23.  Benazir had pledged that the PPP would not allow the military to rig the upcoming January 8 parliam

The Pakistani authorities are blaming Muslim militants for the assassination. That is possible, but everyone in Pakistan remembers that it was the military intelligence, or Inter-Services Intelligence, that promoted Muslim militancy in the two decades before September 11 as a wedge against India in Afghanistan and Kashmir. The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) faithful will almost certainly blame Pervez Musharraf, and sentiment here is more important than reality, whatever the reality may be. The PPP is one of two very large, long-standing grassroots political parties in Pakistan, and if its followers are radicalized by this event, it could lead to severe turmoil. Just a day before her assassination Benazir had pledged that the PPP would not allow the military to rig the upcoming January 8 parliamentary elections.

66. So, what if she was corrupt?
I mean, it would be better if it wasn't that way, but when your only choices are corrupts, I'd rather stick with the corrupt that at least tries to benefit their people, that fights for what they believe in and for democracy, that has the courage to stand up.

That's her real legacy, not corruption, since that's the default legacy of politics and most politicians in probably most of the world.

21. incredibly sad
when i was a kid, i looked up to her as a role model; a woman becoming president of a Muslim country. That was so amazing. Off and on, over the years, I've followed her career and exile, and recent return.

This morning's news made me sick to my stomach. She was an incredibly courageous and strong woman.

26. It is indeed a mad world...
mutually assured destruction, death, and kill those that speak against the liars.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Benazir Bhutto's assassination-and, like her, not surprised.

Fwiw, the year started with a lot of news about Pakistan that concerned me enough to track it in LBN for a few days-it began with a report from the BBC

"BBC: Pakistan nuclear 'kidnap' foiled" (started 1-15-2007)
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2689760

And now the year is ending in a still mad world...

Brought me to tears.

I remember all those years ago when she first took over for her murdered father. I admired her very much, I thought it was so wonderful that a woman could be the leader of Muslim nation. It seemed to me that she must be a very special and strong woman to have done so.

So much darkness has gathered in the years since...

49. Pakistan ... NOW is your time! ...
About 20 years ago, another exile decided to return to his home country. Unlike Bhutto, he literally never got to set foot on his native soil, as he was shot behind the head as he was escorted off his plane. Three years later, ordinary people, nuns, priests, students, and a handful of soldiers, defied a nearly 20-year dictatorship. In 3 days the dictator was overthrown in a (relatively) peaceful revolt. Pakistan, it is now your turn.
